Mexico & Guatemala announce agreement to make illegal passage to U.S. easier

Earlier this week, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto and Guatemalan president Otto Perez Molina held a joint press conference to formally announce a new program that will allow Guatemalan citizens to legally travel through Mexico in their effort to enter the United States illegally. Guatemala is one of three sending countries accounting for most of the illegal aliens coming across the U.S.-Mexico border during the ongoing surge. The agreement grants Guatemalans 72 hours of legal status while they make their journey to the U.S.

Boehner: ‘I Disagree’ With Impeaching Obama

(CNSNews.com) – House Speaker John Boehner plans to sue President Obama, but he’s not in favor of impeaching him.

“I disagree,” he said twice on Wednesday, when a reporter asked him about Sarah Palin’s call to impeach Barack Obama.

Palin told Fox News on Tuesday that the “tipping point” for her was the “illegal immigration issue.”

On that topic, Boehner was asked about President Obama’s request for $3.7B in emergency spending to deal with the border crisis — more than half of it humanitarian aid.

Boehner said he’s waiting for a recommendation from the Appropriations Committee and from the newly created Border Working Group:

“I sent a letter to the president more than two weeks ago, outlining actions that he could take already under the law, and yet he’s not followed any of those recommendations,” Boehner said.

“So it’s time for us to take a serious look at what needs to happen. If we don’t secure the border, nothing’s going to change.”

Boehner said the $3.7 billion is “about continuing to deal with the problem” instead of fixing the problem: “We’ve got to do something about sealing the border and ending this problem so that we can begin to move on with the bigger question of immigration reform.”

Boehner announced last month that Republicans plan to sue the president for exceeding his executive authority and for failing to faithfully execute the law of the land.

“You know, the Constitution makes it clear that a president’s job is to faithfully execute the laws,” Boehner told a news conference on June 25. “In my view, the president has not faithfully executed the laws. We have a system of government outlined in our Constitution with the Executive Branch, the Legislative branch and the Judicial branch.

The president’s satirical interview with comedian Zach Galifianakis on his Web series “Between Two Ferns,” widely credited with boosting enrollment in his signature healthcare law, has been nominated for an Emmy Award.

The Funny or Die video clip was nominated Thursday in the Outstanding Short-Format Live-Action Entertainment Program category, facing off against other contenders including the Super Bowl halftime show and Cartoon Network’s “Childrens Hospital” television series.

The other two nominees in the category also have ties to the president: “The Soup,” hosted by Joel McHale, who served as this year’s White House Correspondents’ Association dinner emcee, and “Parks and Recreation,” an NBC series that has featured guest appearances by Vice President Biden and first lady Michelle Obama.

ISIS Has Seized 88 Pounds Of Uranium In Northern Iraq

With the mainstream media having moved on in the news cycle to Dow ‘almost’ 17,000 and the ‘Border Crisis’ Scandal, it seems The Islamic State (the terrorists formerly known as ISIS) have stepped up their game and come out swinging… by seizing 88 pounds of nuclear material (uranium compounds) from Mosul University. As Iraq’s UN Ambassador warned, “these nuclear materials, despite the limited amounts mentioned, “can be used in manufacturing weapons of mass destruction… or in combination with other materials in its terrorist acts.”

As Reuters reports, insurgents in Iraq have seized nuclear materials used for scientific research at a university in the country’s north, Iraq told the United Nations in a letter appealing for help to “stave off the threat of their use by terrorists in Iraq or abroad.”

Nearly 40 kilograms (88 pounds) of uranium compounds were kept at Mosul University, Iraq’s U.N. Ambassador Mohamed Ali Alhakim told U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in the July 8 letter obtained by Reuters on Wednesday.

“Terrorist groups have seized control of nuclear material at the sites that came out of the control of the state,” Alhakim wrote, adding that such materials “can be used in manufacturing weapons of mass destruction.”

“These nuclear materials, despite the limited amounts mentioned, can enable terrorist groups, with the availability of the required expertise, to use it separate or in combination with other materials in its terrorist acts,” said Alhakim.

Reports coming out of eastern Syria Monday revealed that several factions within the Syrian opposition force known as the Free Syrian Army (FSA) have pledged services to the Islamic State, the group formerly known as the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS). Sources and eyewitnesses said that the FSA has handed over its weapons to the Islamic State in large numbers.

The Free Syrian Army was said to be a “moderate” and “secular” force, which was used as the rationale by U.S. officials to supply the opposition force with weapons and training.

Sources told Homs, Syria-based Zaman Alwasl newspaper that several factions within the FSA, including Ahl Al Athar, Ibin al-Qa’im, and Aisha have pledged to support the Islamic State.

On Tuesday, a spokesman for the Free Syrian Army said all of the area between Deir Ez-Zor, Syria, and the Iraqi border – a 90 mile stretch – has fallen to the Islamic State. The spokesman said that they not only controlled the territory, but had also taken over six Syrian oil and gas fields, along with a major pumping station that delivers oil to both Iraq and Syria. One of the captured oil fields included the al-Omar field, capable of producing 75,000 barrels of oil per day.

In a video proclamation, leaders in the town of al-Sahil said they “decided to swear allegiance” to the Islamic State and its leader: Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

Aliens Are Not Immigrants

Were you to draw a picture of the United States, it would show the familiar outline of our borders with Maine sticking out at the top right, Florida on the bottom right, Texas in the south, and so on. But what’s a border? It’s a boundary within which people declare, uphold, and adhere to a set of principles. People outside it don’t. Principles within are outlined in two founding documents: The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. It’s those principles that have made the United States the strongest, most prosperous, and greatest country the world has ever seen. Without them and the borders within which they’re enforced, the United States would not exist.

People outside the boundaries have seen and heard how good it is here and they want to come in. There’s a process for that called immigration, and most of us are descended from people who followed it. During the first half of the 20th century, about 12,000,000 did. None got any welfare because it didn’t exist. After the Roosevelt and Johnson Administrations there were some welfare programs, but immigrants weren’t eligible until they became citizens.

Early immigrants didn’t come here for freebies. The opportunity to work and build a new life in a free country is what drew them. Over the past 25 years or so, however, another 12,000,000 or so snuck in here without going through the immigration process and cannot properly be called immigrants at all. They’re illegal aliens. There are many more government welfare benefits available now and in most states they’ve been given to illegals. As word gets around, more illegals are drawn here. Why are we surprised? For more and more illegals, their reasons for coming here are different from those of our ancestors. They’re not as interested in building as they are in taking. They’re a net drain on the nation.
