Worried about the federal government imposing overly-restrictive new gun laws? One Pennsylvania county is saying, “Not in our backyard!”
Susquehanna County commissioners have passed a resolution to fully protect the Second Amendment from any federal laws infringing upon it, as reported by The Times-Tribune.

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin took to Facebook on Tuesday and put her two cents worth in on why she believes the Federal government is acquiring so much ammunition. Her remarks, seemingly to clarify her earlier tweet, about the current economic situation in the United States and the massive debt we have hanging over us concluded by stating, “We’re going to default eventually and that’s why the feds are stockpiling bullets in case of civil unrest.”
Palin told those in Washington to “Cut the Drama. Do Your Job.”

There is a real possibility, a strong likelihood, that President Obama knows nothing of the nuts and bolts, the details and realities of the positions he promotes. He rides the Starship Air Force One, thrills adolescent crowds and frames himself with federal employees while orating vapid clichés dowsed in demagoguery.
He drives the fancy car but needs help filling it with gas and couldn’t point to the air filter if you popped the hood. Imagery sans leadership.
Consider how well we know the group that went in to kill Osama Bin Laden, Seal Team 6. The photo of Obama watching on video as the killing of Bin Laden takes place, everyone in a seat, all the players we’d expect there, the appearance of a long pursued effort coming to fruition. Yet we never see a body, we are told Bin Laden’s religious beliefs were upheld in burying him at sea. Of course many details left out, someone from Hollywood makes a movie about the whole thing, even releasing it before the November 2012 elections.

If the standard 10-round magazine will be illegal, and nobody makes a 7-round magazine, wouldn’t this be a de facto ban on most guns?
ROCHESTER — Starting April 15, New York will have the smallest gun magazine limit in the country, and all signs indicate no gun makers have plans to accommodate it.
Gun manufacturers have never had a reason to make a magazine with fewer than 10 rounds, because no state required it until now. And, as far as local gun dealers and the Democrat and Chronicle have been able to determine, there are no manufacturers planning to make seven-round magazines.
This means that in less than two months, gun dealers such as Paul Martin, owner of Pro-Gun Services in Victor, can only sell something that doesn’t exist yet.
“There was never a need for a (seven-round magazine),” Martin said. “Not many manufacturers are going to bother to make something just for the state of New York.”
The New York Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act, passed in January, says gun dealers cannot sell magazines with more than seven rounds beginning April 15. However, three gun dealers in the Rochester area say manufacturers don’t make a seven-round magazine for most guns, and several manufacturers don’t disagree. This leaves store owners wondering what they are going to sell.
“Can you realistically expect a company that’s huge to gear up and say, ‘Let’s make something for those poor suckers in New York because they’ve got a bad law,’” said Fred Calcagno, owner of American Sportsman in East Rochester.
An Advanced Placement World Geography teacher at a Texas high school who encouraged students to dress in Islamic clothing also instructed them to refer to the 9-11 hijackers not as terrorists – but as “freedom fighters,” according to students who were in the class.
Students at Lumberton High School were also told to stop referring to the Holocaust as Genocide – instead they were told to use the term “ethnic cleansing.”

Never one to let a crisis go to waste, President Obama is using impending budget cuts to justify releasing “waves” of illegal immigrants from detention centers throughout the country.
Groups of illegal aliens have been freed this week from facilities in Texas, Florida and Louisiana, according to a mainstream newspaper story that quotes advocates reporting “waves” being released. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed the secret liberation program, but wouldn’t say how many illegal immigrants were let go or what facilities they came from.

During the State of the Union Address, we heard the President say how much he disagreed with and abhorred the fast-approaching “sequester”; the budget-hacking debt and deficit measure that an ad hoc committee from both houses of Congress cobbled together so that the federal government could say they did something – at least for then – on the generational problem facing our country that is a spendthrift federal government. Of course, after all the congratulatory back-slapping died down, thinking people understood that the “agreement” to which Republicans in that ad hoc committee signed on to was politically horrendous. Some of us, armed with an ability to read and comprehend the Constitution, even understood the whole of the effort to be unconstitutional.
Over the first term of Mr. Obama’s reign as President of the United States, I have – on many occasions, questioned just how it came to be that he can claim the mantle of “constitutional scholar.” Truth be told, without a full vetting of his college transcripts (to which we are denied access) all we know is from time to time he lectured to a constitutional law class at the University of Chicago under the title of “senior lecturer.” As he was not a seated professor at the UofC, his position was little more than a trophy title and one that is routinely bestowed upon political figures. Again, because we have no proof that Mr. Obama took – or even passed – a constitutional law class in either undergraduate or graduate school, his qualifications to teach – and his knowledge of the subject – is unclear.
I provide the aforementioned thoughts because two aspects to the so-called “sequester” have everything to do with constitutionality.
Socialism is not the Answer
