Defense Secretaries come and go. Obama had four of them in 8 years who had some unkind things to say about his leadership or lack of it. There was no talk of chaos or of the only adult in the room leaving. Suddenly the media is in meltdown after “Mad Dog” Mattis announced his departure from the Cabinet after President Trump announced our departure from Syria:

Foreign Policy Pentagon reporter Lara Seligman wrote the press corp is contemplating suicide over Mattis’ resignation, “I think I speak for all national security reporters tonight when I say I’m about ready to jump off a cliff. But at least I already wrote the “who will replace Mattis” story two months (only two months?????) ago @ForeignPolicy“

Democrats who won’t defend our southern border and who slept as Obama drew red lines in the sand with vanishing ink worry about an ISIS Obama created by a precipitous withdrawal from Iraq regaining strength and reforming in Syria and Iraq. The general Obama fired is suddenly a man of principle whose leadership was indispensable:

President Obama apparently believes that history is a lie agreed upon as he generates some “fake news” of his own, telling CNN that the rise and expansion of the Islamic State was “not on my intelligence radar” As the Washington Examiner reported:

President Obama admitted to CNN’s Fareed Zakaria, in a TV special “The Legacy of Barack Obama,” that his administration underestimated the Islamic State terrorist group.

“The ability of ISIL to not just mass inside of Syria, but then to initiate major land offensives that took Mosul, for example, that was not on my intelligence radar screen,” Obama said in a pre-taped interview that aired Wednesday evening.

Well, in order to see something on your radar, you actually have to look at it, and the fact is that President Obama from the start ignored his daily intelligence briefings, including the ones about ISIS that he ignored for a year. Obama in fact midwife the Islamic State’s caliphate by ignoring its rise and pulling victorious American troops out of Iraq, thus creating the political vacuum ISIS gladly filled.  Obama argues that he didn’t have a status of forces agreement with Baghdad, but he doesn’t have one now as he puts American troops on the ground in an attempt to correct his mistake He willfully ignored intelligence on the rising ISIS threat.

Before the hyperventilating begins,  let me stipulate that neither President Obama or Hillary Clinton ever sat down with Islamic State chieftain  Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and signed the articles of incorporation. But were it not for their actions and inactions in facilitating a precipitous withdrawal from Iraq, creating vacuum ISIS would gladly fill, the terrorist groups’ caliphate arguably would not exist.

There has been a lot of talk about WMD in Iraq before we invaded. Most saw the photos but if you remember they were on trucks being transported. Anyone care to guess where they were going? How about Syria? For those who follow the news, we know there were WMD’s in Iraq. Why am I so sure you ask? Because the US gave them to Iraq when Iraq was fighting Iran.

Report: Islamic State Seizes U.S. Missiles in Iraq

The Pentagon acknowledged on Monday that Iraqi forces could have discovered a cache of U.S. weapons and missiles seized by Islamic State (IS) militants operating in the country, according to U.S. officials and regional media reports.

Iraqi forces combatting IS (also known as ISIS or ISIL) are said to have found a stockpile of U.S. weapons, including ammunition and anti-armor missiles, hidden at sites controlled by terrorist forces, according to foreign military sources who spoke to Iran’s state-controlled Fars News Agency. This is said to include a “huge volume” of advanced TOW II anti-tank missiles.

When asked to address the reports on Monday, a Pentagon official acknowledged that U.S. weapons had gone missing last year, but denied that the United States was intentionally arming IS or its affiliates in the region.

For months, many Western observers have been closely following the minute-by-minute developments concerning the battle between Islamic State and coalition forces in the hopes that such data will help them discern what the future may hold.

Yet knowledge of the end game has been available for anyone viewing the Obama administration with the eyes of a hedgehog, not a fox.

In an article published over seven months ago, I anticipated the main developments to have taken place since U.S. President Obama declared war (i.e., “airstrikes”) on the Islamic State in September, 2014.  Titled “Does Obama Need ‘Time to Defeat or Forget ISIS?”  I made the following predictions, all of which have come true, and in the same sequence:

Terrorists Destroy the Ancient Jewish Tomb of Ezra in Iraq

The Tomb of Ezra is situated at Al Azair on the west bank of the Tigris River, about 60 miles to the north of Basra.

Iraqi terrorists have seized another ancient synagogue and have already destroyed most of it.
Ezra’s tomb in the Amara region was also destroyed and stripped of its Jewish identity.
Israel National News reported:

Terrorists in Iraq have seized a major synagogue and holy site in Amara, the Elder of Ziyon blog reported Wednesday – and have already destroyed much of it.

According to the Iraqi media site quoted by the blog, the synagogue will become the new southern headquarters of the terrorists, whose name and affiliation are unspecified. All roads to the synagogue have been blocked and journalists have been banned from reporting on the takeover.

The media site also added that Ezra’s tomb in the Amara area has also been stripped of its Jewish identity, and may possibly have been destroyed.

The move is yet another blow to Iraq’s Jewish community, which the blog notes is down to a mere ten Jews – despite 2,500 years of Jewish life which began with the destruction of the First Temple in Jerusalem.

While both reports decline to specify the name of the terror group, news of the demolition follows multiple reports that Islamic State (ISIS) has systemically destroyed multiple Jewish holy sites in Iraq.

1,000 Soldiers From The 82nd Airborne Headed To Iraq

Approximately 1,000 paratroopers from the Army’s famed 82nd Airborne Division will deploy to Iraq early next year to help the Iraqi security forces take on the Islamic State, the Pentagon announced Friday.

The soldiers from the 82nd’s 3rd Brigade Combat Team, based at Fort Bragg, N.C., will begin to deploy in late January to train, advise and assist the ISF, Pentagon press secretary Rear Adm. John Kirby told reporters.

Their mission is part of the coalition effort to build up the Iraqi army and Kurdish peshmerga so that they can recapture territory from Islamic State militants.

The paratroopers are preparing for a nine-month deployment, according to a spokeswoman for the 82nd Airborne.

Approximately 300 troops from other Army, Air Force and Marine Corps units will also deploy to provide “enabler” support in areas such as counterintelligence, logistics, and signals, Kirby said.

Last month, President Barack Obama authorized an additional 1,500 troops to deploy to Iraq to participate in the train, advise and assist mission. The deployment of elements of the 82nd Airborne is part of that initiative.

On Thursday, Lt. Gen. James Terry, the commander of Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve, told reporters that other countries in the coalition are expected to contribute to another 1,500-strong force for the capacity-building effort.

“The key to success out there will be increasing the capabilities of Iraqi security forces,” Terry said.

Iraqi officials are reportedly eager to go on the offensive and retake places like Mosul, but the U.S. military believes the ISF aren’t ready.

Sure seems we’ve come to a point where the rule of law means little to the Obama administration – or the oath taken to faithfully execute our laws.

With that in mind, Article I, Section 8, Clause 11 of the United States Constitution, at times referred to as the War Powers Clause, vests in the Congress the power to declare war, in the following wording: “[The Congress shall have Power…] To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water.”

I searched Article II to see if there was anything to contradict these enumerated powers bestowed upon the U.S. Congress – and found nothing. Now, I can immediately draw your attention to President Obama’s ill-conceived venture into Libya – which we have addressed several times, most recently here discussing the involvement of ISIS there – and where was the “humanitarian crisis? I could also alert you to the fact that we are deploying troops back into Iraq, but there has been no declaration from Congress on war – and we are dropping bombs and folks are shooting – a basic definition of war, as far as I know.

As he was being released from an American detention camp in Iraq in 2009, the man who will go on to head the powerful ISIS group issued a menacing warning to his former captors.

‘I’ll see you guys in New York,’ Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi reportedly told U.S. Army reservists from Long Island who had been guarding him at Camp Bucca near the Kuwaiti border.

[I]n the decade since the 2003 US-led Iraq invasion, the US has spent a fortune training and arming the Iraqi army in the hopes of readying it to secure the country once America left. That meant arming the Iraqi army with high-tech and extremely expensive American-made guns, tanks, jeeps, artillery, and more.

“I think we have to understand first how we got here,” he said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “I think one of the reasons why ISIS has been emboldened is because we have been arming their allies. We have been allied with ISIS in Syria.”

Syrian rebels who would later join the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIS, were trained in 2012 by U.S. instructors working at a secret base in Jordan, according to informed Jordanian officials.

The Obama administration says it will seek $500 million from Congress to help “train and equip appropriately vetted elements of the moderate Syrian armed opposition,” funding that, if approved, would deepen U.S. involvement in that country’s civil war.

National Security Council spokeswoman Caitlin Hayden announced on Thursday that the administration would seek the money that she said would build on “longstanding efforts” by the United States “to empower the moderate Syrian opposition.”

The Syrian opposition is exactly what spawned ISIS.

If these are mistakes, why do Obama et al. keep making them?
