Where are the “President lied, people died” protestors now?

Family Security Matters

by DR. ROBIN MCFEE

As friends and I got together writing letters for the troops, it struck us how many of our contemporaries are unaware Americans are fighting a war, or that some of military will not return to their native soil alive. I can’t think of any other major conflict where there has been such a disconnection between those who serve, and those who are served. At this time of year, with Memorial Day just a week away, the sacrifice made by so few for so many should be front and center in our consciousness. Alas it may just be another inconvenient truth.

Coming home, the flag that draped my father’s casket as backdrop to reading the newspaper which no longer talks about the military, unless a local person is killed, or a photo op from a Memorial Day service, is in stark contrast from our early days in Iraq and Afghanistan. You’d think there wasn’t a war being waged or Americans in harm’s way, based upon the media coverage, or more accurately, lack thereof.  It made me think of how far we have come as a nation – the good, and the bad, and how the political winds of fortune play a role in the lives of people who risk their security for ours.

Would it surprise anyone to know that more US servicemen and women have died in Afghanistan on Obama’s watch than during the W Bush presidency? The government data on US servicemen/women deaths are clear. Yet where is the public outrage? Where are the protests with clarion calls “Obama Lied, Soldiers Died” being chanted in the streets the way they were when George W. Bush was POTUS? Where is the righteous indignation and concern over military deaths from Code Pink, or the other anti-war protestor groups? Where are the daily front page news items about our brave men and women in uniform who remain in harm’s way?

Sadly the number of flags folded at funeral services over the last 7 years, with the all too familiar phrase “on behalf of a grateful nation” has been greater than the years beforehand, in no small measure due to Obama’s foreign policy in Afghanistan, and even sadder, it does not define or inform his foreign policy either. As an aside, one could of course argue that the number of people – civilians, allies, enemies, and troops – killed due to Obama’s foreign policy errors has eclipsed what has occurred under Bush’s watch.  Beyond the idiotic misnomer Arab Spring which saw allies brought to the brink, is the emergence of ISIS (NOT a JV team!) whose efforts towards Christian genocide has resulted in incalculable deaths. ISIS’ ambition towards extra-regional caliphate has led to untold suffering, loss of irreplaceable historic treasures, and death from the Middle East, to Europe and beyond. Instead of one major group of radical killers and their franchisees (Al Qaeda) we now have two major non state sponsors of terrorism, in addition to a more deadly form of state terrorism sponsor – Iran on Obama’s watch. Then there are deaths associated with Putin unchecked, and Syria unchecked, and Palestinians unchecked, and Iran unchecked (which includes Hezbollah), and, well you get the idea. There’s a lot of bloodshed on his watch, not that you would read about it in the major papers, or see it on the major networks. Clearly there are no “Obama Lied, People Died” protests.

Federal Government Waste Exploded Under Obama, Data Show

https://i1.wp.com/media.cagle.com/127/2013/03/15/128788_600.jpg

Free Republic

Big Government: The federal government wasted more than $100 billion on over payments last year. It knows this, even tracks it, but somehow can’t seem to stop it. Is there a better indication that government is too big?

A federal website called Payment Accuracy tracks in great detail what it calls “improper payments” made by the federal government through Medicare, Medicaid, farm programs, school lunch programs and others to contractors, doctors, students, and so on.

Last year, the government made $126 billion in over payments, nearly double the amount of made in President Bush’s last year.

Improper payments in Medicare, for example, went from $10 billion in 2008 to $43 billion last year; and for Medicaid, the figured jumped from $19 billion to $29 billion.

The Payment Accuracy site notes that the government also underpaid by $11 billion last year. Still, at $115 billion, the net overpayment just in 2015 is massive.

It is, for example, equal to the combined budgets of the Departments of Justice, Energy, Interior, State and the EPA for 2015.

It’s twice as much all the income taxes paid by everyone making less than $50,000.

It’s roughly equal to the combined 2015 profits of Apple, Exxon Mobil, Wal-Mart, Google, Pfizer and Comcast.

The Payment Accuracy site also notes that for some programs, improper payments account for a substantial share of their budgets. They account for 23% of the Department of Agriculture’s school breakfast program, for example, and almost 24% of the money handed out through the Earned Income Tax Credit program. Almost 10% of Medicaid’s budget is made up of improper payments

President Obama: Accessory to the Crimes Committed By Illegal Aliens?

Family Security Matters

by MICHAEL CUTLER

On April 19, 2016, the House Subcommittee on Immigration and Border Security conducted a hearing on the topic, “The Real Victims of a Reckless and Lawless Immigration Policy: Families and Survivors Speak Out on the Real Cost of This Administration’s Policies.”

I urge you to watch the entire video of that important hearing. And then I recommend that you provide information about that hearing to as many folks as possible.

The witnesses at this hearing were: Sheriff Charles Jenkins of Frederick County, Maryland; Michelle Root, the mother of Sarah Root; Laura Wilkerson,  the mother of Joshua Wilkerson; and Bishop Minerva Carcaño of the United Methodist Church.

The timing of the hearing could not have been better because the day before, on Monday, April 18th, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments on the administration’s implementation of the DAPA program (Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents). A CNN news report, “Supreme Court divided on Obama’s immigration actions,” focused on this program, which is a follow-on to the DACA program (Deferred Action, Childhood Arrival), which largely paralleled the failed DREAM Act.

Socialism Is Dying Everywhere — Except The U.S.

Socialism: Around the world, nations that have been foolish enough to adopt socialist policies either collapsed or are well on their way to doing so. Why, then, are so many in the U.S. enthralled with the idea?

A quick look at the world’s countries in direst economic shape reveals that many, if not most, have one thing in common: They rely on top-down socialist control, rather than free markets, to run their economies. The former, history amply shows, are doomed to fail. There are no long-term socialist success stories. None.

Muslims don’t assimilate, they infiltrate

Family Security Matters

LAWRENCE SELLIN, PHD

Let us first, dispense with the pretense.

Every notion we in the West have adopted in terms of dealing with Muslims, both individually and collectively, is wrong.

It is a policy based more on political correctness than on rational analysis, more on a misunderstanding of culture than religion.

The term “Islamophobia” was invented and promoted in the early 1990s by the International Institute for Islamic Thought, a front group of the Muslim Brotherhood. It was designed as a weapon to advance a totalitarian cause by stigmatizing critics and silencing them, similar to the tactics used by the political left, when they hurl the accusations of “racist,” “sexist,” “homophobe” and “hate-speech.”

It became the role of Islamist lobby organizations like the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) to depict themselves as civil-rights groups speaking out on behalf of a Muslim American population that was allegedly besieged by outsiders who harbored an illogical, unfounded fear of them and regularly accusing the American people, American institutions, law-enforcement authorities, and the U.S. government of harboring a deep and potentially violent prejudice against Muslims. Of course, FBI data on hate crimes show that such allegations are nonsense.

Earthquake Amnesty in Works for Illegal Aliens from Ecuador, DHS Quietly Grants “Migratory Relief” in Spanish

Judicial Watch

Word of a special earthquake amnesty for Ecuadorean nationals living in the United States illegally is spreading like wildfire in Spanish media reports published throughout Latin America recently. A catastrophic, magnitude 7.8 temblor struck the ailing South American nation’s pacific coast on April 16, killing hundreds and injuring thousands. Undoubtedly, it’s been devastating and worthy of the tremendous humanitarian aid being provided by the U.S. government as well as a multitude of charities.

However, the Ecuadorean nationals who stand to benefit from yet another one of President Obama’s disaster amnesty initiatives already lived in the U.S. illegally when the earthquake hit. Offering this perk is like rewarding bad—in this case illegal—behavior. We’ve already seen this occur many times in the last few years and Judicial Watch has documented it in a number of reports. Obama has granted Ebola amnesty for illegal aliens from Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone, earthquake amnesty for Haitians, hurricane amnesty for Hondurans and Nicaraguans and “ongoing armed conflict” amnesty for nationals of Yemen, an Islamic Middle Eastern country well known as an Al Qaeda breeding ground. Earlier this year the administration rewarded illegal aliens in the Southern and Midwestern United States “severe weather” amnesty due to the flooding that battered the region and forced rivers from Texas to Illinois to surge out of control.

Considering this record, it’s not unreasonable to assume that the administration will eventually issue an earthquake amnesty for illegal aliens from Ecuador. Officially this is known as Temporary Protected Status (TPS), a humanitarian measure designed to temporarily shield illegal immigrants from deportation during emergencies. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is consulting with “appropriate agencies” as it evaluates the earthquake’s impact and Ecuador’s recovery efforts to determine if a TPS order is necessary, according to a newspaper report in El Salvador that quotes a DHS spokesperson. The agency is already helping Ecuadoreans in the U.S. by granting work permits and waving visa fees if candidates show that their financial situation has been hurt by the earthquake, according to a document posted in Spanish on the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) website. It states that USCIS offers “migratory relief measures” for those affected by natural disasters such as the recent severe earthquakes in Ecuador, Japan and Burma. This is clearly targeted at Ecuadoreans since Japanese and Burmese don’t usually speak or read Spanish.

The earthquake reprieve idea gained steam after an Illinois congressman well known for his open borders agenda, wrote a letter to Obama calling for TPS for Ecuadorians living in the U.S. “The United States Congress created TPS for exactly these types of dire circumstances in foreign countries, when those citizens cannot safely return to their country and are already living in the U.S.,” the congressman writes to the commander-in-chief. “Given the magnitude of the destruction, Ecuadorians cannot safely return home. Extending TPS is the compassionate response that would provide the many Ecuadorians throughout our country with much-needed security and stability in this time of personal, familial, and national crisis.” The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), the Washington D.C. think tank dedicated to researching legal and illegal immigration into the U.S., points out that almost every natural disaster in the third world is followed by calls for amnesty for illegal aliens from the afflicted country. More information on this phenomenon is offered in a recent CIS piece titled “The Earthquake Lottery for Illegal Aliens, Ecuador Edition.”

The Muslim Brotherhood Enables an Islamic State Threat Here

The nation’s top intelligence official says the U.S. could experience Paris- or Brussels-style coordinated, murderous terrorist attacks. He still seems clueless, however, about why that’s so.

National Intelligence Director James Clapper warned that the Islamic State could utilize terrorist cells already in place across the country. But neither Clapper nor President Obama have addressed what really has facilitated jihadism in Europe: namely, the infrastructure of safe-havens, training facilities and armories that have been put in place over the past five decades by the Muslim Brotherhood among their mosques, Islamic centers and front groups.

The ugly truth is that the Brothers have been allowed to put such an infrastructure in place here, too. Barack Obama has turned a blind eye towards the Muslim Brotherhood’s stealthy, subversive malevolence – and thereby enabled it.
