Washington Post Gives Megaphone to Far-Left Group’s Climate Fearmongering

Accuracy in Media

By: Brian McNicoll

It was 46 years ago, almost to the day, that the Washington Post ran a story on how man’s behavior was affecting his environment.

“In the next 50 years fine dust that humans discharge into the atmosphere by burning fossil fuel will screen out so much of the sun’s rays that the Earth’s average temperature could fall by six degrees,” the Post reported. “Sustained emissions over five to 10 years could be sufficient to trigger an ice age.”

But long before the shelf life of the Post’s prediction began to run out with no Ice Age in sight, the newspaper changed course and decided burning fossil fuel would make the weather hotter, not colder. It makes one wonder – Is the Post trying to deliver serious scientific information? Or does it just view pot shots at the energy industry as a way to sell papers?

Liberal Media Moonbats Claim Lady Liberty Is a Muslim

Moonbattery

Obama often blathers delusionally about the supposed contribution of Islam to American culture, raving at one point that Muslims built “the very fabric of our nation.” His friends at the Washington Post have finally uncovered what they are passing off as evidence to back him up:

The man who designed the Statue of Liberty once worked on project that would’ve involved a towering Egyptian peasant woman, meaning the iconic New York City monument’s roots can be traced to Islam, according to the Washington Post.

That’s some stretch, even for the Islamophile propagandists who control the “mainstream” media establishment.

“The first draft for what would become the nation’s symbol of welcome to the ‘huddled masses’ was conceived by French sculptor Frederic Auguste Bartholdi not for the Statue of Liberty but for an entirely different project: a lighthouse that would stand at the entrance to the Suez Canal,” writes the Post’s Yanan Wang.

“Bartholdi would carve the likeness of an Egyptian peasant woman holding aloft a torch of freedom. The monument, twice as high as the Sphinx, would guard the waterway’s entrance and perhaps double as a lighthouse. Its name would be Egypt (or Progress) Bringing Light to Asia,” she added, citing the historian Michael B. Oren.

But Muslim societies tending to be economically dysfunctional, that project fell through due to lack of funds.

Bartholdi later met with French abolitionist Edouard Rene de Laboulaye, and suggested that France give the United States a gift to recognize the close of the American Civil War. Drawing from his scrapped plans for the Suez Canal, the French sculptor hit upon an entirely new idea: A towering version of the Roman goddess Libertas.

This is how Wang tied the Statue of Liberty to the idea that it was conceived originally as an Egyptian Muslim.

The Daily Beast actually ran a piece floating the Lady Liberty Is a Muslim canard as an argument for allowing thousands of Islamic “refugees” from the terrorist breeding grounds of Syria to continue colonizing the country.

In their desperation to find anything of a factual nature that would support their ideology, liberals have lost all fear of making fools of themselves.

Sarah Palin Challenges Far Left WaPo to Report Honestly About Obama Like They Did Nixon

This was beautiful!
Sarah Palin unloads on Obama lackeys at the Washington Post.
– Dares them to cover the Obama IRS targeting scandal.

My Challenge to the Washington Post

To reclaim your credibility (and the mainstream media’s, at large), I challenge you to engage in the same aggressive investigative journalism you courageously employed 42 years ago covering President Nixon. The public knows of our current president’s incompetence, denials, and cover-ups, but would be well served if we could count on your resources to dig deep for truth in all matters pertaining to Team Obama.

One example: your reporters kept tracking an obscure break-in story and that led to revealing a grave problem in the White House. The Washington Post’s reputation soared as the model of good journalism. Today, you’ve fallen like a lead balloon. Whereas you once doggedly covered the 18.5 minute gap in Nixon’s White House communications, you’ve virtually ignored the Obama Administration’s 1.2 million minutes of deleted communications by just one of the agencies under Obama’s executive branch. I’m speaking of the Lois Lerner IRS harassment-of-conservatives scandal wherein Lerner “lost” pertinent email communications. You’ve allowed Obama to skate with his proclamation that absolutely no wrongdoing occurred at the IRS, “not even a smidgen.”

The list of Obama abuses and impeachable offenses is long. I challenge you to lift a finger and help protect democracy, allow justice for all, and ensure domestic tranquility by doing your job reporting current corrupt events fairly. If not, you prove yourselves incompetent and in bed with Obama, not caring one iota about media integrity.

Those running the Washington Post’s show now, compared to those during the Nixon era, are too afraid of being uninvited to the permanent political class’ cocktail parties and petty gossip fests, making you all a bunch of wusses. I challenge you to get to work.

Obama’s US Assassination Program?

Human Events

Sound too conspiratorial to be true? Like the cover-up ops of spy novels? Well, it’s reality. And it is possibly the most bizarre, inhumane and abusive way that the White House is expanding its power over the American people.

It’s not an extremist belief or theory of the far right. It’s a fact that has been confirmed by The New York Times, The Washington Post and MSNBC and even documented by the far-left online magazine Salon.com.

And it’s the gravest nightmare of U.S. citizens and abandonment of our Constitution to date: a presidential assassination program in which U.S. citizens are in the literal scopes of the executive branch based upon nothing more than allegations of terrorism involvement as the branch defines it.

Jihadist al-Awlaki: Washington Post Saved Me From Airstrike

NewsMax

Anwar al-Awlaki, the U.S.-born imam linked to the Fort Hood shooting spree in Texas in November, the botched Christmas Day airliner bombing, and the failed Times Square bombing early this month, credited the Washington Post with tipping him off and allowing him to elude a U.S. airstrike in Yemen in December.

Most of the attention given to al-Awlaki’s lengthy interview in an al-Qaida video released Sunday has focused on his call to kill civilian Americans. But far more provocative is his revelation of how the U.S. media can inadvertently assist and protect al-Qaida terrorists.
