Austin Mayor, Feds Colluded as Texas Gov. Sued to Keep Syrian Refugees Out

JUDICIAL WATCH

After the governor of Texas announced that the state would stop accepting Syrian refugees, the Obama administration went behind his back secretly conferencing with a mayor that offers illegal immigrants sanctuary and Syrians a welcome mat. The plan, evidently, was to continue sending Syrian refugees to the Lone Star State, even as the governor initiated litigation to halt the flow. This week Judicial Watch obtained records of the administration’s behind-the-scenes efforts to keep sending Syrians to Texas despite fierce opposition from state officials over the security threats created by refugees from an Arab nation that’s a hotbed of terrorism.

The White House looked to Austin Mayor Steve Adler, going around the governor to confer with a city leader who espoused the controversial Syrian resettlements, the records show. Shortly after Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced that the state wouldn’t accept any more Syrian refugees, the administration responded by colluding with Adler, according to records of a conference call between the mayor’s office and the White House. The administration also furnished Adler with “talking points” involving the refugee resettlement and the parties discussed Abbott’s lawsuit. It seems bizarre that the feds would discuss legal action with a town mayor operating in the state suing them.

JUDICIAL WATCH

‘If we open it up to anybody and everybody, all sorts of people will come out of the woodwork’Amila Merdzanovic, executive director, Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program

Second Group Helping to Resettle Syrian Refugees in Rutland, Vermont Received 91% of its Funding from Government Grants

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch today released 128 pages of documents it obtained from the mayor of Rutland, Vermont, showing a concerted effort by the mayor and a number of private organizations to conceal from the public their plans to resettle 100 Keep Syria Refugee Plans Secret into the small southern Vermont town.

The documents include an April 14, 2016, email from Amila Merdzanovic, executive director of the Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program, to Mayor Christopher Louras, in which she wrote:

I want to share with you the concern my HQ has about holding a public forum. If we open it up to anybody and everybody, all sorts of people will come out of woodwork. Anti-immigrant, anti-anything. They suggest that the forum be invite only but make it as wide as possible. Work with faith leaders, United Way, etc… Perhaps, we could go back to the Congregational Church and continue the conversation there.

The mayor and resettlement organizations shrouded the plan in such secrecy that not even the town’s aldermen were informed of what was taking place behind closed doors. The aldermen eventually wrote to the U.S. Department of State protesting the plan and opened an investigation into the mayor’s actions. The State Department has not yet ruled on whether it will resettle refugees in Rutland despite the aldermen’s protest.

Handwritten notes state that the issue was, “Not what can ‘we’ do for ‘them,’ but what the diversity, cultural richness do for the community.” The documents contain detailed discussions of what Rutland will need to provide for the refugees – including housing, jobs, medical care, and places for worship.

DHS just granted instant amnesty and benefits to over 8 thousand refugees; well, that was easy

Whether they are in the U.S. legally or not, more than 8,000 Syrian refugees in the country were just granted asylum by the federal government.

The Department of Homeland Security granted temporary protected status to the Syrian citizens, despite fears of ISIS terrorists slipping in through the program, Fox News reported.

Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson said the “humanitarian crisis” the refugees face in their homeland has made it impossible for them to return.

Though the program, which was created in 1990, is supposed to grant the protected status to refugees temporarily, critics have argued there is nothing temporary about it. No one has ever been required to leave due to an expiring status.

The amnesty will provide the immigrants with a work permit, Social Security number, drivers license and welfare eligibility. Typically, the status is granted to a select group of refugees who are affected by a specific event, like an earthquake.

“This is kind of a rolling amnesty,” reported Fox News’ William La Jeunesse. “This designation, however, not only grandfathers in all Syrians who have been arriving before 2012 but all who’ve arrived since then” and does not expire until 2018.

Critics slam the program for its inability to properly vet incoming refugees and protect against possible terrorist threats. Those who are enrolled in the program also get a “free pass” to citizenship, critics argue, by marrying a citizen or green card holder.

At present, there are 300,000 immigrants living in the U.S. from 12 countries who have been granted protected status, some as far back as the 1990s, according to Fox News.

Fabulous! Now We Can Worry About Our Northern Border

Canada’s new ultra-liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau plans to let in 25,000 so-called Syrian refugees by March 1st and 50,000 at least by the end of 2016. I’m sure he has a “robust” vetting process like we do.

They are getting at least some of the refugees from Lebanese camps and David Cameron has already been warned that ISIS runs the camps.

Barack Obama is importing war into America

screen-shot-2015-07-18-at-4-50-38-pm

Renew America

Out of the many, many terrible policy decisions that have been made by the Obama misadministration, perhaps the worst is the effort being made to “resettle” thousands of Syrian “refugees” into this country. This move has been widely opposed by the American people, and even provoked a rare show of cartilage (can’t call it genuine backbone) in most of the elected Republican state governors. Nobody with any sense wants these “refugees” here because of the obvious security threat that they represent.

In a ludicrous display of hollow-chest thumping, Obama attempted to “shame” his opponents into accepting them by casting these “refugees” as just a bunch of harmless little three-year old orphans and widows. I doubt that anyone who wasn’t already in the tank for him believed it, considering all the empirical evidence we’ve seen so far about Muslim “refugees” from the Middle East. Indeed, those who know anything at all know that what Obama is really doing is importing a future war into our country – one that will eventually be fought right here on our own soil.

Don’t believe me? Then look to the European experience. Europe – much of whose leadership is as ridiculously obtuse as our own – is basically under foreign occupation as I write this. Because of politicians who are so open-minded that their brains have fallen out, large chunks of Europe threw open the gates to over a million Muslim “migrants,” and are now reaping the consequences of their stupidity.

Obama To Speak Today To Battle ‘Hateful Talk’ Against Muslims, Will Meet With Muslim Leaders This Week To Address Discrimination Against Muslims

Weasel Zippers

Has he gotten around to meeting with the families killed in San Bernardino yet? Will he even bother to stop on his way out to Hawaii for yet another vacation on our dime?

WASHINGTON — In an effort to battle what the White House has called hateful talk by prominent Republicans against Muslims and immigrants, President Obama will give a speech on Tuesday morning at a naturalization ceremony that includes a refugee from Iraq and a Fulbright scholar from Congo.

“The president will speak about the American tradition of being a welcoming society and the incredible contributions of immigrants and refugees to our nation,” a White House official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk publicly about the ceremony before it occurred.

The event, held on the 224th anniversary of the ratification of the Bill of Rights, will feature 31 candidates for citizenship, from 25 countries, the official said. It will be held at the National Archives, and Richard W. Roberts, chief judge of United States District Court for the District of Columbia, will preside.

The ceremony comes as 25 Republican governors have vowed to block the entry of Syrian refugees into their states, including some where large numbers of Syrians have settled in recent years. Mr. Obama has condemned such comments as contradicting American values.

The governors made their vow after the deadly terrorist attacks in Paris last month, and fears of terrorism have risen further in the United States after the shooting this month in San Bernardino, Calif.

The White House will also hold a series of meetings with religious leaders this week to discuss ways the administration is working to address discrimination, harassment and episodes of hate while promoting pluralism and religious freedom.

Terrorist-Tied Hillary Aide Sends Out a “Battle Cry” for Syrian Refugees

Huma

Independent Sentinel

The refugees, including the Syrian refugees, come here before the vetting process is over. They are allowed to roam around the country while the process goes on. It’s probably after they get copies of their driver’s licenses from some nondescript agency. Huma Abedin wants them to come right in and she thinks Republicans are scary.

Hillary Clinton’s top aide is very concerned about Syrian “refugees” being turned away, but she might want to can it because she herself has terrorist ties.

Getting Syrian refugees into the country is her “battle cry” she said, “We cannot turn these people away.”

I hope her battle cry isn’t “Allahu Akbar”.

“When you listen to Republicans it is really scary on the other side,” says the scary-herself Huma.
