Obama Says: “Shut Up!”

Family Security Matters

While blaming the federal government’s shutdown on the House’s dragging its  feet on a budget bill that would raise the debt ceiling and defund Obamacare,  and not himself or the government itself for “shutting down,” President Barack  Obama during an  address to Congress in the White House State Dining Room on the morning of  October 17th displayed his true anti-freedom and anti-freedom of  speech colors by blaming bloggers, talk radio hosts and “activists” for the  shutdown. It demonstrated his core hostility to freedom in any realm. In short,  he would just rather we all shut up and let him get on with destroying the  country, and not bother him or anyone else with the least squeak of  opposition.

This is the portrait of a wannabe tyrant.

Mount Rushmore Weeps

Moonbattery

Park Service thugs went out of their way to prevent it during the shutdown maneuver, but now that RINO perfidy has left Obama victorious and free to spend the country into oblivion, Americans are again permitted to photograph Mount Rushmore. This shot from the morning it opened sums up the current situation perfectly:

Those must be tears of grief that Americans would even tolerate much less elect rulers like Obama.

Military Chapel Closed In Georgia, Sign Hung On Building: “Shutdown: No Catholic Service Till Further Notice”…

Weasel Zippers

Hmmm, anyone else beginning to see a pattern here?

Via Daily Caller:

Father Ray Leonard, a Catholic priest who serves a Georgia military base, was not allowed to celebrate mass at the Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay this weekend. “Shutdown: No Catholic service till further notice,” a sign posted on the chapel said. Leonard — who is contracted with the Department of Defense to minister the military on the base — is not allowed to work on the base during the federal government shutdown. In fact, the general counsel for the Archdiocese for the Military Services USA has warned that — under current law — some military priests under contract could even face arrest if they celebrate mass or practice their faith on military bases during the shutdown. Kansas Rep. Tim Huelskamp, a Republican, released the details of Leonard’s experience after meeting with the priest on Tuesday.

Obama-nation! Elderly Couple Tossed Out Of Home They’ve Owned For 40 Years Because Of “Shutdown”

Weasel Zippers

They weren’t even able to grab Ralph’s pants.

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) — The government shutdown is being felt close to home for some locals. They say they’re being forced out of private homes on Lake Mead because they sit on federal land.

Joyce Spencer is 77-years-old and her husband Ralph is 80. They’ve been spending most of their time in the family ice cream store since going home isn’t an option.

The Spencers never expected to be forced out of their Lake Mead home, which they’ve owned since the 70s, but on Thursday, a park ranger said they had 24 hours to get out.

“I had to go to town today and buy Ralph undershirts and jeans because I forgot his pants,” Joyce Spencer told Action News.

The Stewart’s Point home sits on federal land, so even though the Spencers own their cabin outright, they’re not allowed in until the government reopens.

Park officials said property owners can visit only to retrieve belongings; they sent Action News a statement which reads in part, “Unfortunately overnight stays are not permitted until a budget is passed and the park can reopen.”

Joyce Spencer said she’s alright in the meantime, staying with nearby family, but the move was a lot to handle as a senior citizen.

“I had to be sure and get his walker and his scooter that he has to go in,” Spencer said. “We’re not hurt in any way except it might cost me if I have to go buy more pants.”

The Lake Mead properties are considered vacation homes; one of the lease requirements to own a plot is people must have an alternative residence.

Regardless, the Spencers said it’s their property and they should be allowed in, shutdown or not.

By the way, when I went looking for a picture of Lake Mead for this story, I clicked on the link for Lake Mead and got a National Parks Service Notice that the site wasn’t in operation because of the shutdown. But they are still paying to host the site, having a notice as opposed to normal operations, so it saves them no money at all.

What Shutdown? Obama Set for Another Vacation this Weekend

Somebody needs to tell Obama that a shutdown means no vacations and Air Force 1 is grounded.                                                    1 Dragon

The leader of the free world may be coming to Williamsburg for some rest and relaxation if Congress is able to come to agreement on the budget. President Obama and the First Family are planning to visit the area this weekend in what the White House described Wednesday as a “long-planned family trip to Colonial Williamsburg.”

But the trip might get grounded if a government shutdown can’t be averted by Republicans and Democrats in Congress.

On Thursday morning, the Federal Aviation Administration established a no-fly zone over Williamsburg that will be in place from Friday through Monday. Jessica Wharton, spokeswoman for the Newport News-Williamsburg International Airport, said the no-fly zone will not affect the arrival and departure times at the airport for this weekend.
