Joe Biden: ‘When I came to the U.S. Senate 120 years ago’

Speaking on the future of the filibuster at the first press conference of his presidency, President Joe Biden, 78, said he came to the Senate “120 years ago.”

“With regard to the filibuster, I believe we should go back to the position of the filibuster that existed just when I came to the United State’s Senate 120 years ago.”

Biden became a Senator when he was 29 and served for 36 years.

Many top Democrats have argued that the filibuster is a ‘racist’ practice and have advocated for its demise. Republicans, like Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, however, say that argument is meant “to justify a partisan power grab in the present.”

Biden has made it a priority to fight the filibuster.

Ivanka Trump rumored to run for senate in Fla.

Rumors that Ivanka Trump will soon launch a political career have started to recirculate. According to recent reports, the President’s daughter is most likely considering Florida for a potential Senate run as she and her husband, Jared Kushner, are reportedly moving to Miami-Dade County.

“Over the last four years I’ve seen a lot, I’ve seen it’s easy for politicians to survive if they silence their convictions and skip the hard fights,” Ivanka stated. “I couldn’t believe so many politicians actually prefer to complain about a problem, rather than fix it.”

Political experts have suggested Marco Rubio’s Senate seat is the most likely target for the President’s daughter. He’s up for re-election in 2022 and is expected to run, but experts have warned a potential Ivanka campaign could be a threat to his political career.

The Florida senator would later become a political ally of President Trump, but was an avid critic during the 2016 campaign. Nonetheless, the Commander in Chief has enjoyed widespread popularity in the Sunshine State.

If Ivanka does, in fact, choose to run, experts believe she could have a real shot considering the last time Rubio faced a Trump he lost by 19-points.

Neither the White House nor the eldest First Daughter have confirmed the rumors.

Barack Obama has assumed power over all US waterways, even those that are not navigable, and he is also ready to turn them over two-thirds of the world’s waterways to the UN for redistribution of their resources under the guise of protecting the planet. Obama has already declared many of our seas off bounds for development and drilling.

There is now in the works a similar treaty to the climate change treaty which will give vast control of the world’s oceans over to the U.N. This move will once again grant to the U.N. authority that the Constitution forbids.

He will do it without Senate approval if he needs to. The Senate has already relinquished its power to the Obama pen and phone.

Fox News reports that Obama is working on a vast, far-reaching treaty with the UN that will give them control over the biological resources of the high seas—all the waters that lie outside national territories and economic zones.

 Thanks to a VC commenter, I discovered that in August 1960, the Democrat-controlled Senate passed a resolution, S.RES. 334, “Expressing the sense of the Senate that the president should not make recess appointments to the Supreme Court, except to prevent or end a breakdown in the administration of the Court’s business.”  Each of President Eisenhower’s SCOTUS appointments had initially been a recess appointment who was later confirmed by the Senate, and the Democrats were apparently concerned that Ike would try to fill any last-minute vacancy that might arise with a recess appointment.

The GOP opposed this, of course. Hypocrisy goes two ways. But the majority won.

It has been confirmed that Judge Scalia is dead in his room at a Texas resort. No eulogy, but the man will far more than deeply missed as a soldier holding the line for our Constitution.

Suddenly this election has become much more complicated and more important than even the most pessimistic among us had realized. We must use this election as a final and clearest of statements to the US Senate that will confirm Obama’s next(and rapid) appointment to the Supreme Court; that THEY MUST NOT ACT TO CONFIRM Scalia’s successor, UNTIL this election is over!!

We must come together now, no matter what candidate we support and FLOOD every senator’s switchboard and mail box.

Contact every conservative network in your grass roots, be it Libertarian, Church,Legal Bureau, and,yes- Prayer Chain you know of.

IF, IF this Republican Senate will not find the guts to do this much, we must make them understand CLEARLY that they will from that moment ceased to exist, as a political party.

We don’t even need to think of the Crap that Obama could push through the Court if they cave and betray this time.

Sanctuary Cities Ignore ICE Orders to Free 9,295 Criminal Aliens

As the U.S. Senate considers a bill to slash funding for local governments that protect violent illegal immigrants, a new study reveals that hundreds of sanctuary cities nationwide released thousands of criminal aliens from jail rather than turn them over to federal authorities for deportation.

This proves that legislation to crack down on jurisdictions that obstruct enforcement of federal immigration law is long overdue. In fact, the measure was inspired by the summer murder of a San Francisco woman by an illegal immigrant with seven felony convictions and five deportation orders. Because San Francisco is an illegal alien sanctuary, local law enforcement officials don’t notify the feds about detainees who should be deported. Federal lawmakers want to send those municipalities a message, says the senator that introduced the measure, Stop Sanctuary Policies and Protect Americans Act.

Although Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.) and Republicans who control the Senate are under no obligation to do so, they have agreed to grant a confirmation vote to Loretta Lynch, President Obama’s nominee to replace Eric Holder as United States Attorney General. Ms. Lynch has testified that she supports and would implement President Obama’s executive action providing de facto amnesty to illegal immigrants. This edict, which blatantly violates Obama’s oath to execute the laws faithfully, also unconstitutionally confers positive legal benefits on illegal aliens, something only Congress has the authority to do.

Yet, five Republican senators have announced that they will vote to confirm Ms. Lynch. Three have already supported her in the Judiciary Committee: Orrin Hatch (Utah), Lindsey Graham (S.C.), and Jeff Flake (Ariz). The two others are Mark Kirk (Ill.) and Susan Collins (Maine). If they follow through in the vote now scheduled for Thursday, Ms. Lynch would almost certainly have the 51 votes needed to be confirmed.

There are six points to be made about this.

McConnell Rushes to Nominate Loretta Lynch Who Promises to Violate the Constitution

The Loretta Lynch nomination has never been held up because she suggested she will violate the law as Attorney General nor was it held up because she refused to answer significant questions and feigned ignorance during the questioning. Her nomination was held up so it could be used as a wedge in the battle over the anti-human trafficking law.

Democrats found some anti-abortion language in the bill and, thanks to Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, Republicans backed off. A change made to the bill to help Republicans save face requires money to help victims be taken from existing community health center funds that already have abortion restrictions.

Now that the agreement has been reached, the Senate will vote quickly on Loretta Lynch’s nomination. Republican leaders had insisted the trafficking bill be finished before any vote on Loretta Lynch to replace Attorney General Eric Holder.

“As soon as we finish the trafficking bill, as I’ve indicated for some time now, we’ll move to the president’s nominee for attorney general — hopefully in the next day or so,” said Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Kentucky Republican.

Loretta Lynch has majority support in a Republican-controlled Senate and she has made it relatively clear she will uphold Obama’s laws as opposed to the Constitution despite the fact that she will be the chief law enforcement officer in the land.

The U.N. Resolution 2117 lists 21 points dealing with firearms control, but perhaps of most interest is point number 11. It: “CALLS FOR MEMBER STATES TO SUPPORT WEAPONS COLLECTION and DISARMAMENT of all UN countries”.

By a 53-46 vote – The U.S. Senate voted against the U.N. resolution. HOORAY.

In a 53-46 vote, the Senate narrowly passed a measure that will stop the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty. The Statement of Purpose from the Senate Bill reads: “To uphold Second Amendment rights and prevent the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.” The U.N. Small Arms Treaty, which has been championed by the Obama Administration, would have effectively placed a global ban on the import and export of small firearms. The ban would have affected all private gun owners in the U.S. and had language that would have implemented an international gun registry, now get this, on all private guns and ammo.

Astonishingly, 46 out of our 100 United States Senators were willing to give away our Constitutional rights to a foreign power.
