“Chattanooga Five” Memorial Event Ignored by National Media

An estimated 100,000 people showed up at a memorial event last week in Chattanooga, Tennessee to honor and remember the four Marines and one Navy Sailor who were assassinated at the hands of a Muslim jihadist in July. The national news media chose to ignore this massive outpouring of gratitude and remembrance for these fallen American heroes.  However, while the local media provided ample coverage, they took exception to remarks by Admiral James “Ace” Lyons (ret), who was invited to be one of the principal speakers.

So what were Admiral Lyons’ offensive words that so upset the local officials who organized the event, and the local media who reported on it? Specifically, Admiral Lyons laid the blame for the assassination on the “evil of radical Islam.”

Among other things, he said, “This tragedy never had to happen. They weren’t cut down on a battlefield. This was not workplace violence,” a clear reference to the Obama administration’s characterization of the attack by Major Nidal Hasan, who killed 13 and wounded 32 at Ft. Hood in Texas back in 2009.

Lyons stated “Make no mistake, it is clear our Constitution and way of life are under attack.” He also argued that it was President Obama’s policies that have contributed to the social unrest and the atmosphere of hate.

The  FBI has a double standard when it targets people suspected as threats to our  national security.  How could they have questioned the now deceased Boston  bomber, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, placed him on a terrorist watch list, and entered him  into a database  for suspected international terrorists, but let him roam free until he blew  somebody up?

 

How  could the FBI have allowed Major Nidal Hasan, who ended up murdering 13 people  in Ft. Hood, Texas, to keep his rank and continue to teach even when they had  evidence that he was in contact with a known terrorist?  And how could they  have cuffed and thrown into jail with lightning speed a patriot like ex-Marine  Brandon Raub of Chesterfield, Virginia, whose only apparent violation was  political incorrectness through his right to free speech?

 

Why  does America’s justice system treat alleged radical criminals with kid gloves  while patriots are guilty until proven innocent?

How absurd is it? So absurd even über-RINO Susan Collins is slamming the Obama admin for failing to identify the threat as radical Islam.

(Fox News) — Sen. Susan Collins on Wednesday blasted the Defense Department for classifying the Fort Hood massacre as workplace violence and suggested political correctness is being placed above the security of the nation’s Armed Forces at home.

During a joint session of the Senate and House Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday, the Maine Republican referenced a letter from the Defense Department depicting the Fort Hood shootings as workplace violence. She criticized the Obama administration for failing to identify the threat as radical Islam.

Thirteen people were killed and dozens more wounded at Fort Hood in 2009, and the number of alleged plots targeting the military has grown significantly since then. Lawmakers said there have been 33 plots against the U.S. military since Sept. 11, 2001, and 70 percent of those threats have been since mid-2009.  Major Nidal Hasan, a former Army psychiatrist, who is being held for the attacks, allegedly was inspired by radical U.S.-born cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, who was killed in a U.S. drone strike in Yemen in late September. The two men exchanged as many as 20 emails, according to U.S. officials, and Awlaki declared Hasan a hero.

A shocking decision made by the secretary of the Army last month — in the case of an U.S. Army soldier with the 101^st Airborne at Fort Campbell who refused to deploy to Afghanistan claiming that Islamic law prevented him from killing other Muslims — vindicates Fort Hood killer Major Nidal Hasan. He made identical claims and threatened that “adverse events” would occur if military officials didn’t accede to shariah principles.
