RGA launches first TV ad linking Conway to Obama

Free Republic

The Republican Governor’s Association is launching its first ad of the gubernatorial campaign seeking to tie Democratic candidate Jack Conway to President Barack Obama.

The ad titled: “Vague” is running statewide in what the RGA is calling a significant ad buy across broadcast and cable networks.

In the spot the RGA follows a similar track that has been used against Conway in past Elections. The group attempts to tie Conway to Obama saying the two Democrats are similar in their “vague promises.

The RGA ad specifically targets Conway over cap and trade. Cap-and-trade is essentially putting a limit on greenhouse gas emissions and letting producers trade credits to meet standards, a global warming reduction measure pushed by Obama.

The RGA argument stems back to Conway’s 2010 run for U.S. Senate against Rand Paul, when the GOP assaulted Conway for flip-flopping on the issue.

Several stories from 2009, including one from the Paducah Sun, said Conway did favor the reduction measure, though his campaign contended the story was wrong in 2010 when asked by the Lexington Herald-Leader.

Mitch McConnell’s Party Ready to Give Way?

Free Republic

Matt Bevin will be the Republican Gubernatorial nominee this fall in Kentucky.

This surprising conclusion of a bitter, four-person primary took a lot by surprise. Most notably, Mitch McConnell. McConnell handily defeated Bevin last year in the Kentucky Senate primary. Many Tea Party members wrote Bevin off as a bad candidate. McConnell moved on to score a thumping of Alison Lundergan Grimes in the general election. Bevin was pretty much a memory.

Throughout the Gubernatorial race Bevin held third place. Then, at the 11th hour, the two front runners, James Comer and Hal Heiner became embroiled in a mud slinging exhibition. It was one of the dirtiest races in Kentucky history!

A lot of voters stayed home. In fact Republican turnout totaled only 17%. But Bevin’s people did show up. In the end, he had an 83 vote lead, which held after recanvassing the votes.

McConnell has come forth with a lip service endorsement. But, there was some bad blood between camps! It seems that Matt Bevin was actually born in Colorado, and grew up in rural Northern New Hampshire. McConnell positioned him as an “east coast con man” from Connecticut during the primary.

Matt Bevin is an investment banker who moved to Louisville in 1999. Is he all the things that McConnell said? We’ll find out! What we know for certain is that his Democrat opponent, Jack Conway is seen as “Andrew Cuomo South.!”

How Bevin does in the general election in Kentucky could be a bellwether for things to come in America. If he wins, Kentucky can say a Tea Party candidate some consider “slightly to the right of Rand Paul,”defeated a rank in file Establishment Democrat.

Jack Conway’s college days

When Democratic Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway started attacking his opponent for the Kentucky Senate seat, Republican Rand Paul, for college-aged hijinks that involved smoking pot and “praying” to a god named Aqua Buddha, Conway’s old classmates took notice.

“Can you believe he opened that door?” classmates wondered in e-mail chains, regarding why Conway would have invited scrutiny on his college days.

Democrat Jack Conway Uses Racist Tyler Clay Collins to Smear Rand Paul

Red State

Democrat and Jack Conway supporter Tyler Clay Collins went to the Kentucky Fancy Farm Picnic this past weekend (a big deal in Kentucky) and began mouthing off some vile and offensive racist sentiments.

Tyler Clay Collins also held up a sign disparaging immigrants to the country. Tyler Clay Collins wanted everyone to know how much he hates non-white immigrants to the United States. Tyler Clay Collins is a HUGE Jack Conway supporter. Conway is the Democrats’ Senate nominee for Kentucky against Rand Paul.

There’s just one small fact I left out. Tyler Clay Collins, a Democrat supporter of Jack Conway, spent his time mouthing off racist sentiments while pretending to be a support of Rand Paul’s.

But, sadly for Tyler Clay Collins, a number of Democrats and other Jack Conway supporters couldn’t keep a secret and identified Collins as working for or volunteering for the Jack Conway camp.

Conway is now denying Collins is affiliated with the campaign.
