‘Why Doesn’t EVERYONE Notice This?’

Family Security Matters
We have to admit: Watching President Obama’s final State of The Union was tough to watch.

Not because it was his last one forever and we were getting all sentimental about his policies while in office.

It was because his view of what has happened over the last 7 years is so diametrically opposed to the actual truth and reality of where we really are in America today.

As time has rolled on and President Obama’s plans, proposals, philosophy and policies were laid out in the open, it became readily apparent that he has a very limited understanding of economics, business practices and how jobs are created, sustained and maintained in America. His understanding of federal budget and tax policy is limited to his dreams about his liberal agenda, not whether it actually works to create jobs and stimulate growth and prosperity for everyone.

On foreign policy, he has tried to reverse over 200 years of American defense and foreign policy stature first by apologizing for it in the early stages of his Presidency and later, by retreating from the world stage and withdrawing America from a strong position as the world’s remaining superpower.

He doesn’t even understand practical politics which, at its pinnacle, requires a Chief Executive in the White House with the dexterity and political acumen to reach across the aisle and build working majorities in both chambers of Capitol Hill.

Even he admitted he was a failure at that crucial task in his SOTU.

Oh Canada!

Secure Freedom Minute fsm logo

O Canada! Our northern neighbor’s voters have succumbed to the sorts of seduction that brought us Barack Obama’s presidency. Last night, Canadians elected Justin Trudeau – a young, untested and superficially attractive leftist, running on a platform offering hope and promising change.

In so doing, they fired Prime Minister Stephen Harper, arguably, the Free World’s most stalwart, and conservative, leader. In the place of a reliably pro-American Canada, guided by a champion for liberty, a strong supporter of Israel and a courageous opponent of Islamic supremacism, Trudeau’s government will be pursuing policies at home and abroad fundamentally at odds with our interests.

All this will suit President Obama, whose campaign operatives were – as usual – dispatched to help elect the leftist candidate. In due course, Canadians will surely come to regret this mistake, but at what cost to them, and to us?

Obama’s Body Count

American Thinker

Barack  Obama and Hillary Clinton feel that Osama bin Laden’s death and the drone  attacks show that they have mastered national security and foreign policy.   They are wrong.

Counting  bodies and sorties proves little.  As Einstein said, “[n]ot everything that  counts can be counted, and not everything that can be counted  counts.”

The thrill is gone for Obama

In 2008, the Obama campaign represented “Hope and Change” and inspired millions of voters to pull the lever for the unknown man from Illinois. At his campaign rallies, it was commonplace to see supporters fainting, overcome with raw emotion. Obama’s 2008 campaign was fueled by an amazing combination of energy and optimism rarely seen in American politics.

In the 2008 election, it was our nation’s chance to elect our first African American as President. It was a strike against the sins of slavery and racism in America’s past and a way to launch our country toward a bright future of racial harmony and progress.

What a difference four years makes!

Grey-Haired Brigade

They like to refer to us as senior
citizens, old fogies, geezers, and in some cases dinosaurs. Some of us are “Baby
Boomers” getting ready to retire. Others have been retired for some time. We
walk a little slower these days and our eyes and hearing are not what they once
We have worked hard, raised our children, worshiped our God and grown old
together. Yes, we are the ones some refer to as being over the hill, and that is
probably true. But before writing us off completely, there are a few things that
need to be taken into consideration.
In school we studied English, history, math, and science which enabled us
to lead America into the technological age. Most of us remember what outhouses
were, many of us with firsthand experience. We remember the days of telephone
party-lines, 25 cent gasoline, and milk and ice being delivered to our homes.
For those of you who don’t know what an icebox is, today they are electric and
referred to as refrigerators. A few even remember when cars were started with a
crank. Yes, we lived those days and we still know how to make change without a
We are probably considered old fashioned and out-dated by many. But there
are a few things you need to remember before completely writing us off. We won
World War II, fought in Korea and Viet Nam . We can quote The Pledge of
Allegiance, and know where to place our hand while doing so. We wore the uniform
of our country with pride and lost many friends on the battlefield. We didn’t
fight for the Socialist States of America, we fought for the “Land of the Free
and the Home of the Brave.” We wore different uniforms but carried the same
flag. We know the words to the Star Spangled Banner, America , and America the
Beautiful by heart, and you may even see some tears running down our cheeks as
we sing. We have lived what many of you have only read about in history books
and we feel no obligation to apologize to anyone for America .
Yes, we are old and slow these days but rest assured, we have at least one
good fight left in us. We have loved this country, fought for it, and died for
it, and now we are going to save it. It is our country and nobody is going to
take it away from us. We took oaths to defend America against all enemies,
foreign and domestic, and that is an oath we plan to keep. There are those who
want to destroy this land we love but, like our founders, there is no way we are
going to remain silent.
It was the young people of this nation who elected Obama and the Democratic
Congress.  You fell for the “Hope and Change” which in reality was nothing but
“Hype and Lies.” You have tasted socialism and seen evil face to face, and have
found you don’t like it after all. You make a lot of noise, but most are all too
interested in their careers or “Climbing the Social Ladder” to be involved in
such mundane things as patriotism and voting. Many of those who fell for the
“Great Lie” in 2008 are now having buyer’s remorse. With all the education we
gave you, you didn’t have sense enough to see through the lies and instead drank
the ‘Cool-Aid.’ Now you’re paying the price and complaining about it. No jobs,
lost mortgages, higher taxes, and less freedom. This is what you voted for and
this is what you got. We entrusted you with the Torch of Liberty and you traded
it for a paycheck and a fancy house.
Well, don’t worry youngsters, the Grey Haired Brigade is here, and in 2012
we are going to take back our nation. We may drive a little slower than you
would like but we get where we’re going, and in 2012 we’re going to the polls by
the millions. This land does not belong to the man in the White House nor to the
likes of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. It belongs to “We the People” and “We the
People” plan to reclaim our land and our freedom. We hope this time you will do
a better job of preserving it and passing it along to our grandchildren. So the
next time you have the chance to say the Pledge of Allegiance, Stand up, put
your hand over your heart, honor our country, and thank God for the old geezers
of the “Grey-Haired Brigade.”
~Author, Anon. Grey-Haired Brigade Member
I am another Gray Haired Geezer signing on. Come on guys. Let’s get this
circulating around.
Children and Young People of America, learn from your mistakes for the
current Gray Haired Brigade will not always be around to bail you out of your
mess.  Join us at the polls Nov. 2012 and take back our country for our
freedom’s sake.
May America bring glory to God once again.

Obama Destined to Be a Footnote in Presidential History

American Thinker

Barack Obama has set a course that will leave his legacy as no more than a footnote in American presidential history.  For all of the bluster and glory, for all of the pomp and circumstance, and yes, for all of the anticipated hope and the promised change, the whirlwind of hype and expectation surrounding the president a mere two years earlier has virtually dissolved.

He was the man destined to save this country from his predecessor’s failures.  He was the man who would end the war in Iraq, finish the war in Afghanistan, and shut down the prison at Guantánamo Bay.  He was the man charged with rescuing the faltering American economy.  He was the man who would usher in a post-racial era in an allegedly inherently racist American society.  And he was the man who had been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize based not on tangible accomplishment, but simply upon these very expectations.

On all of these accounts, President Obama has been a striking failure.

Hollywood’s Love Affair with Obama

Human Events

Sen. Barack Obama promised us “Hope and Change” during the 2008 presidential campaign.

A gaggle of celebrities from Tom Hanks to Spike Lee predicted more than that if voters pulled the lever for Obama. They said the senator would “change the world.”

Voters assumed they meant for the better.
