Hmmm, anyone else beginning to see a pattern here?
Via Daily Caller:
Father Ray Leonard, a Catholic priest who serves a Georgia military base, was not allowed to celebrate mass at the Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay this weekend. “Shutdown: No Catholic service till further notice,” a sign posted on the chapel said. Leonard — who is contracted with the Department of Defense to minister the military on the base — is not allowed to work on the base during the federal government shutdown. In fact, the general counsel for the Archdiocese for the Military Services USA has warned that — under current law — some military priests under contract could even face arrest if they celebrate mass or practice their faith on military bases during the shutdown. Kansas Rep. Tim Huelskamp, a Republican, released the details of Leonard’s experience after meeting with the priest on Tuesday.
According to a Memphis Tennessee school, God is bad, but an accused child molester is good. That’s the lesson to be learned from recent events at Lucy Elementary School in Memphis (via Drudge):
MEMPHIS (CBS CHARLOTTE)– A mother is angry after her daughter wasn’t allowed to write about God for a school assignment.
According to WREG, Erca Shead says her 10-year-old daughter Erin, a student at Lucy Elementary in Memphis, Tenn. was told she couldn’t use God as an idol and had to pick another idol for the assignment.
What part of “freedom of expression” do progressives fail to grasp?
Also, doesn’t this literally force the child to violate one of the 10 commandments by making her place a false idol before God? No establishment violation there. At least not in the eye of the progressive beholder.
In the United States today, there are very few words that provoke as much outrage as the name of Jesus. It is being banned from graduation ceremonies, chaplains all over America are being forbidden from using His name in their prayers, and many school officials all over the nation have become absolutely fanatical about eliminating every trace of Christian expression from their schools. One elementary school in North Carolina even ordered a little six-year-old girl to remove the word “God” from a poem that she had written to honor her grandfathers. Political correctness is spreading like a cancer in this country, and our “freedom of religion” is rapidly being transformed into a guarantee of “freedom from religion” for those that hate the Christian faith.
Without a doubt, there is a war on the Christian faith in America today. It is being waged in classrooms, courtrooms and churches all over the nation.
