You may recall that pResident Obama spoke of three former Presidents making prisoner swaps at the end of wars that took place on their watch, “much like this Bergdahl swap” he said convincingly.

CNN carried this quote, “This is what happens at the end of wars.”

Obama boasted Tuesday when he was asked about swapping American Army Sgt. Deserter for five vicious Taliban terrorists. “That was true for George Washington…That was true for Abraham Lincoln and that was true for FDR. That’s been true of every combat situation, that at some point, you make sure that you try to get your folks back, and that’s the right thing to do.”

Really?

Day Before Denouncing Christianity, Obama Held Secretive Meeting With Islamic Leaders

Yesterday Obama once again made good on his promise to “stand with the Muslims” when he responded to the latest ghastly atrocity by the Islamic State by absurdly blaming Christianity for slavery and denouncing the Crusades. On the previous day, he attended a religious meeting more to his liking:

President Obama met with American Muslim leaders [Wednesday] afternoon, according to the White House schedule, but so far the administration is unwilling to reveal who attended the meeting, which was closed to the press.

Considering the malevolent ultra-radicals he openly consults with (e.g., Al Sharpton) and even appoints to positions of great power (e.g., Eric Holder), the imagination balks at who must have attended this meeting for the Regime to want it kept secret. Members of the terror umbrella group the Muslim Brotherhood were likely present, given Obama’s record of support for it at the expense of Western interests (e.g., see here, here, and here).

In all probability the most innocuous attendee was left-wing Muslim comedian Dean Obeidallah:

The White House won’t say who attended a meeting between Muslim leaders and President Obama at the White House on Wednesday, but comedian Dean Obeidallah says he was there. Writing in the Daily Beast, Obeidallah said discrimination was the main topic: “In fact, it was clearly the No. 1 issue raised: The alarming rise in anti-Muslim bigotry in America.” Obeiallah is well known for his flame-throwing attacks on Republicans, referencing “the GOP’s World Cup of bat[s**t] crazy” and a racial joke about the adopted grandchild of 2012 Republican nominee Mitt Romney. The comedian said he went to White House seeking help in encouraging Democrats to denounce Republicans’ comments on Islam. “My point was that while bigotry from certain Republicans is nothing new, I’m alarmed about the Democratic response to these comments. What is the Democrats’ response, you ask? Simple: silence.” He said Obama was very receptive: “While I can’t share the president’s exact response, I can tell you that he expressed his strong commitment to our community to fight anti-Muslim bigotry. I fully understand it’s not easy problem to remedy. But it was very heartening to hear the president’s passionate response.”

Try to picture FDR responding to the Blitzkrieg sweeping across Europe by meeting with Nazis to passionately strategize against anti-fascist bigotry. In light of the explosive rise of Islamic terrorism in general and the Islamic State in particular, that would be the equivalent.

The direction has gotten ugly.

The Four Freedoms: 75 Years of Liberal Betrayal

In the second half of the 2000s liberals did a fine job of blaming Bush for everything that went wrong in the US. His “neo-con” supporters, they asserted, were just as bad.

Now that President Obama and his signature legislation are a twin disaster the same opportunity beckons for conservatives. It’s not just Obama, it’s the whole liberal project that created this mess. So the road to 2016 involves discrediting Obama, but also the whole liberal ruling class.

A good place to start would be FDR’s Four Freedoms, for when the campaign to elect the un-Obama kicks off in 2016 it will be 75 years since Franklin Delano Roosevelt unveiled his Four Freedoms on January 6, 1941. In case you forgot, the freedoms were:

After approving the Navy SEALs’ mission to kill Osama bin Laden (or allowing Leon Panetta to approve it, as some reports indicate), Barack Obama has been in full retreat mode, doing everything he can to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.  Most notoriously, he ordered a full Muslim burial for Osama bin Laden, contradicting his own claim that bin Laden was “not a Muslim leader.”

Even worse, when Islamic groups started to complain about the fact that bin Laden was buried at sea, rather than on land in accordance with Islamic law, Obama took pains to assure the world that the American troops involved in the burial were “respectful of the body” of bin Laden.

Impeach Obama and Demand Resignation of a Regime

In the course of American history, when the nation was most in need of a leader who could rally the nation to literally survive catastrophes, a common man has come forth and done so, with valor, clarity of purpose, and vision. These unassuming, surprising men, like George Washington, Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, FDR and Ronald Reagan, to name a few, each with their foibles and critics, stood up and secured the security and prosperity of this nation, FIRST and FOREMOST! Each gave the nation a sense of purpose and vision, instilled with legitimate hope, and changed the course of the ship of state away from the rocks, and into navigable waters leading to victory, recovery, and success.

In the course of modern day events, unfolding by the minute, America has never been more in need of such leadership. However, we are now in a situation where the current leadership (or lack thereof) of the nation has done something quite extraordinary, they have found a way to do destroy America. They have charted a course of designed failure. True leaders do not lay blame upon others, they do not lie to, and manipulate the citizenry, they do not cast personal aspersions, they do not cloud arguments, they do not twist facts, they lead by example. They do what is in the best interest of the nation, FIRST!

Just a little more than two years ago, liberals were ecstatic about Barack Obama’s election and Democrats’ control of Congress.  Liberal pundits were all atwitter about the brand new Democratic Era that voters had ushered in.  America would finally become what America should have been years ago: a European-style social democracy.

Boy, did Democrats misread their mandate!  With very little hindsight needed, it’s apparent to all but ideologically-blinkered liberals that the Democrats’ gross overreach isn’t what voters wanted or expected.  Voters wanted a redo of the Clinton years.  Instead, in the person of Barack Obama, voters got an amalgam of FDR and LBJ with a dash of Neville Chamberlin thrown in.

The Obama administration continues the nation’s travels, since Franklin Roosevelt’s socialist New Deal

in the 1930s, along what Friedrich von Hayek called The Road To Serfdom.

The fundamental thrust of liberal-progressive-socialist governments such as that of President Obama is to abrogate the rights of private property, aiming at the holy grail of their secular religion: redistribution of income and wealth to reduce everyone to an equally low state of economic equality.
But people don’t readily abandon what they have labored to earn and save.  As Lenin purportedly said, “Socialism emanates from the business end of a gun barrel.” Hence the relentless push of liberal-progressives to expand the power of collectivized government in Washington.

The case can be made that, of all our rights enumerated in the Bill of Rights, the Fifth Amendment’s private property rights are the most important.  People who are secure in their own property can maintain their rights to free speech and other aspects of constitutional government.  People in a collectivized, socialistic government lose the will and the ability to fight for their rights.  They slowly sink into dependence upon the political state, just as the German Empire’s Chancellor Otto von Bismarck anticipated when he enacted the world’s first systematic welfare-state program.
