One hesitates to use the “T” word, even in times like these when arguably treasonous plots are not only publicized, but in some quarters are almost regarded as “just another day at the office.”
“So what” if a scheme is hatched by an acting director of the FBI and a deputy attorney general to topple a president-elect even before he is sworn into the office for which the voters elected him. Failing that, a full power-driven effort has been underway to “stick it” to those same voters for daring to defy the not-so-gentle hints of what is often termed “the Deep State” that the elected head-of-state be ousted.
This state of rebellion against a democratically elected official smacks of what one would expect of a banana republic.
In this instance, news of such a plot has surfaced in those media sources unafraid to be “drummed out of the club,” so to speak. The accused plotters, according to reports, included disgraced acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.
One media outlet charged that “new facts point to a corrupt, left-wing deep state that attempted a treasonous coup after the 2016 election.” The U.S. Constitution places the executive and legislative branches of government directly in the hands of the voters, not under the aegis of elites who are dead certain they know better than the rest of us – or for that matter the Founding Fathers who created this republic.

Crime and Punishment, by Fyodor Dostoevsky, published in 1866, explored the theme of morally justifying crime for its greater good and benefit to society. Fast forward 150 years from Russia to the American political deep state, where similar righteous themes are playing out.
Former Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe, in May 2017, was in the middle of a Deep State coup to try to remove President Donald Trump from office using the 25th Amendment. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein was also part of the plan, allegedly offering to “wear a wire” to record the lunatic rantings of President Trump to use as justification to nullify the results of the recent presidential election. The latest is that two more Trump cabinet members may (or may not) have signed on to the coup.
Someone from the New York Times might call this patriotism, acting out of a higher moral calling to stop someone unfit and unsuited to be president, an outsider not from the establishment club. As Trump once said of himself during the campaign, he was an “existential threat” to the deep state establishment. “Our movement is about replacing a failed and corrupt establishment with a new government controlled by you the American people.” A clear and present threat to the Deep State.
Others will call McCabe’s actions a coup, a treasonous attempt to subvert an election. Then having failed, ramped-up effort to remove a duly elected president from office, either by impeachment or by considering invoking the 25th Amendment.
Former FBI Director James Comey, an integral part of this coup attempt, wrote a book entitled Higher Calling: Truth, Lies, and Leadership, a title justifying his transgressions for the so-called greater good to society. His greater good was suppressing justice when it suited him and his establishment peers by ignoring or suppressing the legitimate investigation into Hillary Clinton’s illegal handling of classified email. This evolved into subverting justice by initiating a FISA warrant and spying — first on a presidential candidate, then president — based on unverified political opposition research presented to a FISA court as verified intelligence.
Let’s face facts. President Nutcase thinks he has the moral authority, the executive power, the popular opinion, the media help, and the military backup to make a coup.
Using the springboard of that Chinese chestnut “opportunity in chaos,” Obama has intentionally created a government partial slowdown (not “shutdown”) to create a government meltdown. By permitting the CR to go unsigned, Obama believes he has sealed forever the necessity to have a budget. Unfortunately for him, the budget is a function of law, not desire, just like adultery is a sin, not a behavioral choice. It’s mandatory.
Having usurped the budget process through various means, including offering his own budget voted down unanimously, Obama has transformed the way we look at capital expenditures, as if they are at the whim of any particular chaos or need, whether real or manufactured. Case in point: the sequester. The media relayed the false message that the United States would suffer under a sequester. The fear factor did not work, the sequester was signed by Mr. Nutcase, and thereupon no pain no strictly linked to it, making his threat invalid.
