Gun control first for Biden executive orders

The 3 Worst Arguments Against Gun Control

Joe Biden plans to move quickly against guns, adding the issue to his list of first executive orders, according to his top policy aide.

Stef Feldman, the national policy director of Biden’s presidential campaign, included the Democrat’s gun plan in a list of initial executive actions set to be unleashed after Inauguration Day.

Speaking in a Zoom briefing hosted by Georgetown University’s Institute of Politics and Public Service, she said that Biden is planning to “make big, bold changes through executive action, not just on policing and climate like we talked about previously, but in healthcare and education on gun violence, on a range of issues.”

She added that “there’s really a lot you can do through guidance and executive action.”

It is expected that Biden will use executive orders, especially if the Democrats don’t win both Georgia special Senate elections. Even with those, however, it would be a split chamber — making it difficult for him to push through liberal elements of his agenda, including gun control.

The mention of guns in his initial executive actions is already sparking concern in the industry, which is readying an aggressive lobbying campaign. “I’m going to be pretty busy,” said one top gun lobbyist.

During the campaign, Biden won the endorsement of former candidate Beto O’Rourke, who famously promised to grab everyone’s AR-15.

While he calls his plan one aimed at ending “gun violence,” most of Biden’s ideas amount to limiting what people can buy or have. For example, he wants to end the sale of AR-15-style firearms (the most popular in the nation), regulate those that people already have, and limit the size of magazines those guns use.

Why the Second Amendment?

American Thinker

by Anna L. Stark

Once again and on cue, the gun-control zealots are calling for the repeal of the Second Amendment.  Former Supreme Court justice John Paul Stevens parroted the gun-grabber narrative in his recently published New York Times article: “[t]he demonstrators should seek more effective and lasting reform.  They should demand a repeal of the Second Amendment.”  He further bloviates that the Second is a relic of the 18th century.  It’s a sorry state of affairs when a Supreme Court justice who was tasked with upholding the U.S. Constitution – including the Bill of Rights – must be reminded why the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.  You’d think a constitutional scholar would know these things.  It’s also proof positive that advanced age and wisdom are not necessarily synonymous.

The Bill of Rights Institute provides an excellent brief background on the first ten amendments to the U.S. Constitution.  Simply put and stated eloquently, “[t]he Bill of Rights is a list of limits on government power.”  Unfortunately, not only are there those in favor of surrendering their Second Amendment right, but these same people believe that government forces are incapable of oppression, subversion, coercion, or any number of other forms of tyranny.  My advice to this particular group of naïve, nattering nabobs?  Pick up any American history book and revisit why America’s Founding Fathers were familiar with government oppression – they lived it, and many gave their lives fighting it.  As history has shown time and time again, tyrants conquer the populace by instilling fear.  They rely on killing or sinister threats of harm and injury to control the masses.  Heinous killing sprees and wretched oppression of the citizenry are the result of a people unable to defend themselves.

Pensacola billboard calls the NRA ‘terrorist organization’

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WEAR) — A controversial billboard targeting the National Rifle Association (NRA) is drawing fierce criticism and some praise from locals. The billboard accuses the NRA of being a “terrorist’s organization”.

The billboard that sits off W Street in Escambia County has already caught the eye of many people and what it says has drivers doing a double take to read it.

“I’m offended by it and I think it’s just ignorance,” said Rick Bankston.

“I agree with that billboard, yeah,” said Amanda Hutchinson.

The message on the billboard comes weeks after a former student killed 17 people with a military style weapon at Stoneman Douglas High School in Broward County.

Amanda Hutchinson has been a gun owner her whole adult life. She wasn’t surprised to see it. She feels there needs to be stricter policies and regulations for military weapons.

“I’m an Army brat, nobody needs a military weapon, nobody. If you’re hunting with a military weapon you’re not a hunter,” Hutchinson explained.

Rick Bankston feels different about it.

“An NRA person could be the one that saves your life one day,” said Bankston.

Bankston has owned Buck and Bass in Pensacola for more than 30 years. He said the message is distasteful.

“I’m in the NRA, most of the people in here are NRA members, we go to church, we got families, we’re not terrorists,” mentioned Bankston.

WEAR called Claude Taylor, the man responsible for the billboard, Friday afternoon.

Taylor told Channel 3 News the billboard is the first to be put up targeting the NRA and one of 30 being placed in areas across the country.

Now, what towers above the road is further fueling debate over our country’s gun laws.

Barney McCasland is a member of the NRA. McCasland said the sign is insensitive to a part of history this nation was founded on today.

“The First Amendment or any other of the Bill of Rights amendments would be worthless without the Second Amendment. I would be happy to put up another billboard next to it that says the NRA is a patriotic organization of millions of Americans who believe in the Second Amendment,” McCasland said.

Taylor said the message on the billboard is clear.

He said something needs to be done to keep military-grade weapons out of the hands of killers.

Claude Taylor’s group is the same group responsible for a billboard that targeted Congressman Matt Gaetz in January.

The Right to Bear Arms is a Natural Right

The 2nd Amendment has taken heavy criticism almost from its inception. It is no hyperbole to consider it the most controversial passage in all of United States law. Due to an apparent (though imagined) increase in gun crime in recent years, many are calling for repealing the Amendment and instituting tougher restrictions on firearms acquisition, ownership, transportation, and use.

Without addressing the relative effectiveness of such legal actions in reducing violent crime or the practicality of overturning 1/10th of the bill of rights, this article will show that a repeal of the 2nd Amendment will have no legal or moral impact upon the right of private citizens to own, carry, and use firearms for the purpose of self-defense.

Ky Gov Talks Revolution, Shedding Blood, If Hillary Wins

Independent Sentinel

Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin said Republicans might have to fight to win back rights that were lost if Hillary wins.

“I want us to be able to fight ideologically, mentally, spiritually, economically, so that we don’t have to do it physically,” Bevin said during a speech at the Value Voters Conference in Washington, D.C., on Saturday.

“But that may, in fact, be the case.”

“Patriots” may need to shed blood to “reclaim” the country if Clinton wins.

“Whose blood will be shed? It might be that of those in this room,” Bevin said.

“It might be that of our children and grandchildren. I have nine children. It breaks my heart to think it might be their blood that is needed to redeem something, to reclaim something that we, through our apathy and indifference, have given away.”

Asked to clarify his statements Monday, Bevin said they were about military sacrifice, according to Kentucky.com.

His comments didn’t need clarification. We heard. If Hillary and her leftists think the “deplorables” and their enablers will sit still for her taking our Bill of Rights away, she needs to rethink it.

Idiots on Parade Ignore Radical Islamic Terrorism to Take Our Gun Rights

Omar Mateen was a registered Democrat who slaughtered people because of their extreme religious views. Anyone who concentrates on guns or calls it a hate crime is conning us. It these radical Islamic monsters didn’t have guns [though they could always get guns] they’d use pressure cookers and swords.

Even Donald Trump is potentially buying into the gun argument and is planning to discuss banning people on the terror watch list with the NRA. I don’t think Trump will cave but he needs to bring the conversation back to terrorism.

We are happy to meet with Donald Trump. The NRA’s position on this issue has not changed. The NRA believes that terrorists should not be allowed to purchase or possess firearms, period. Anyone on a terror watchlist who tries to buy a gun should be thoroughly investigated by the FBI and the sale delayed while the investigation is ongoing. If an investigation uncovers evidence of terrorist activity or involvement, the government should be allowed to immediately go to court, block the sale, and arrest the terrorist. At the same time, due process protections should be put in place that allow law-abiding Americans who are wrongly put on a watchlist to be removed. That has been the position of Sen. John Cornyn (R.-Tex.) and a majority of the U.S. Senate. Sadly, President Obama and his allies would prefer to play politics with this issue.

The insanity continues and it’s beyond belief. They are going to take our guns when radical Islamic terrorism is the problem. Any excuse to take our rights. Just remember that if we lose one of the Amendments, they will all fall.

If You Want Your Privacy, You Cant Keep It: NSA Is Sharing Data

The Washington Post has reported that a provision of the Patriot Act which is supposed to be limited to national security and terrorism investigations is being used in narcotics cases.

The New York Times reported that the National Security Agency (NSA) will share that data and whatever else is swept up with it with other intelligence agencies including the FBI (without applying any screens for privacy).

This means that domestic law enforcement will have access to massive American communications that are obtained without warrants. The FBI agents don’t need any ‘national security’ reason to put your basic information into the NSA’s data trove. They can poke around endlessly during routine investigations as described in The Washington Post Thursday.

The information can be used by police to lock up citizens for routine crimes.

The NSA has given law enforcement these opportunities to circumvent the Fourth Amendment before and then advises them to “misdirect, fudge and outright lie about how they obtained incriminating information, according to the Post article.

We have given the federal government enormous power, including the power to circumvent the Fourth Amendment. Without a Fourth Amendment, the Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth will fall.

This Is How Obama Brazenly Violated the Second Amendment Today

Barack Obama’s speech today and his unconstitutional laws will infuriate any law-abiding citizen who cares about the Bill of Rights. Be prepared because this is only the first salvo from the totalitarian left.

Obama just up and changed the law today and he will prosecute the people who don’t obey the law he wrote unconstitutionally. He blatantly violated the separation of powers of the Constitution. Obama won’t try to work with Congress, he won’t negotiate and he doesn’t appear to have the skill to do either, so he resorts to illegal mandates instead.

Barack Obama gave his dramatic soliloquy espousing unlawful gun laws today, justifying it with emotional anecdotes – it was reminiscent of his Guns and Bibles speech years ago.

He surrounded himself with gun victims who only serve as props for him. He cried his crocodile  tears – this is a man who went out golfing twenty minutes after giving speech about a decapitated American – he can’t muster up emotion for anything unless it affects his socialist agenda.

Kennedy’s New ‘Right to Dignity’ Could Trump the Right to Free Speech and Religion

Investors.com

When President Obama was first running for office in 2008, he promised that he’d go about “fundamentally transforming” America once in office.

But it wasn’t the 47-year-old Senator from Illinois — who went on to win two presidential elections — who’d bring about such a transformation. It was a 78-year-old unelected Supreme Court justice from California named Anthony Kennedy.

That, at least, is the conclusion one can draw from a compelling column in the Sunday Washington Post by legal scholar Jonathan Turley about Kennedy’s Obergefell v. Hodges decision.

ENOUGH…I’M TIRED AND YOU SHOULD DAMN WELL BE TOO

Independent Sentinel

By John Velisek USN (Ret)

I think back on the days of my childhood, days when all the kids in the neighborhood I lived in would get together for a game of stickball. All colors, all nationalities, everyone would play. Some better than others, but everyone would play until our mothers called us home at dark for dinner. The only break would come when the ice cream truck came by, and if someone didn’t have the dime for ice cream, someone else would buy it for them.

Times have changed, but the basic principles of how I was brought up have stuck with me. It doesn’t make for a tranquil way of life these days. There is a choice which must be made by every one of our citizens. Do we keep those old values, or do we toss them to the side for a more modern way of living our lives?

For me, I’ve had enough. There are certain things I am tired of:
