Disturbing: Is this evidence Obama is building his own military unit?

Family Security Matters

LTC ALLEN WEST (US ARMY RET)

During the Vietnam War it was common knowledge that President Johnson was selecting and approving bombing targets from the Oval Office – the height of micromanagement. One of the concerns I have in prosecuting combat operations against Islamic jihadists is the belief that drones are the panacea for everything.

Let me be clear, drones are not a strategy, although they do create nice talking points of one guy killed here, five guys killed there, oops, an American and Italian hostage killed here. But what I find most interesting about the Obama administration reliance on drone usage is that the liberal progressive left would be going apoplectic if a Republican presidential administration were using similar tactics.

The Idiot President

thumbnailCAWCUNJX

American Thinker

I’m going to tell you the truth, and the thing about the truth is that it sticks in your head forever.

This is it – the American President is an idiot. In fact, he’s a dangerous idiot.

Now I’ll tell you why;

When it comes to fighting the spreading cancer of radical Islamic terror that is choking the whole of the Middle East and much of Africa the American President has said he sees himself as a big town mayor fighting local crime. That’s idiotic!

He sees ISIS, Al-Qaida, Boko Haram and other groups as rival gangs as in West Side Story, not butchering terrorists as in East Side Nightmare. The idiot!

When Jews were targeted for death in a kosher deli he said they were folks randomly shot. The idiot!

When twenty one Coptic Christians were beheaded on a Libyan beach for no other reasons except they were Christian, and he called them ‘citizens,’ he’s an idiot.

When he reports the beheading of an American journalist and then heads of to play golf, he’s an idiot.

Obama has no enumerated power to release GITMO prisoners, but here we go again!

Family Security Matters

by LTC ALLEN WEST (US ARMY RET)

Sure seems we’ve come to a point where the rule of law means little to the Obama administration – or the oath taken to faithfully execute our laws.

With that in mind, Article I, Section 8, Clause 11 of the United States Constitution, at times referred to as the War Powers Clause, vests in the Congress the power to declare war, in the following wording: “[The Congress shall have Power…] To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water.”

I searched Article II to see if there was anything to contradict these enumerated powers bestowed upon the U.S. Congress – and found nothing. Now, I can immediately draw your attention to President Obama’s ill-conceived venture into Libya – which we have addressed several times, most recently here discussing the involvement of ISIS there – and where was the “humanitarian crisis? I could also alert you to the fact that we are deploying troops back into Iraq, but there has been no declaration from Congress on war – and we are dropping bombs and folks are shooting – a basic definition of war, as far as I know.

Terrorist Group ISIS May Be Coming To America

Investors.com

War On Terror: As what the feds call “other than Mexicans” and MS-13 gang members stream across our border, just what is keeping the head of ISIS from keeping his promise, “I’ll see you in New York”?

We already know how ruthless the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is, so much so that media pundits such as Kirsten Powers, who should know better, insist that even al-Qaida is said to be distancing itself from the group.

You know: the same al-Qaida that slit throats with box cutters and then turned passenger jets filled with fuel into cruise missiles aimed at the World Trade Center.

ISIS is as determined as it is ruthless and has plans that go beyond the mini-caliphate it has established in Iraq and Syria — the caliphate for which President Obama, through his politically motivated troop withdrawal, served as midwife.

This caliphate, as the staging ground for future attacks on infidels worldwide, was also the dream of the precursor of ISIS, al-Qaida in Iraq (AQI), and its leader, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, a dream shared by al-Qaida itself.

ISIS is working on the game plan outlined by al-Qaida’s No. 2, Ayman al-Zawahiri, in an October 2005 letter to the late al-Zarqawi. Zawahiri wrote:

“The first stage: Expel the Americans from Iraq. The second stage: Establish an Islamic Authority … over as much territory as you can spread its power in Iraq … in order to fill the void stemming from the departure of he Americans. The third stage: Extend the jihad wave to the secular countries neighboring Iraq.”

And from there, the world, restoring an Islamic empire that once extended to the gates of Vienna.

Except al-Qaida in Iraq wasn’t able to and didn’t have to expel the Americans from Iraq. President Obama did it for them. ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, released on Obama’s watch from Camp Bucca in Iraq in 2009, will take it from there.

As Michael Daly pointed out last week in the Daily Beast, al-Baghdadi, aware that those guarding him were reservists from Long Island, had a few choice parting words.

“He said, ‘I’ll see you guys in New York,'” recalls Army Col. Kenneth King, then the commanding officer of Camp Bucca. “We spent how many missions and how many soldiers were put at risk when we caught this guy and we just released him,” Daly quotes King as saying.

Sounds like the trade with the Taliban that President Obama made.

The threat by al-Baghdadi was not taken seriously at the time, but it should be. While we watch the appalling administration-aided child abuse in the form of unaccompanied minors flooding across our border, they are not the only ones invited by President Obama’s open border policies.

A congressional report released in 2006 noted that of 1.2 million illegal aliens apprehended the prior year, 165,000 came from countries other than Mexico, including from terrorist havens Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, Libya,Yemen, Iran and Syria.

This problem has only gotten worse, and among those coming across have been members of MS-13, one of the world’s most violent and dangerous gangs, which will do anything if paid enough.

ISIS has a lot of money now, looted from Iraqi banks. It’s also worth noting that Spanish authorities recently apprehended eight people who were part of a jihadist recruiting network led by former Gitmo detainee Lahcen Ikasrrien, who was arrested in Afghanistan in 2001.

As Al-Arabiya reported, “The cell found and dispatched recruits for Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) militants based in Syria and Iraq, Spain’s interior ministry said in a statement.”

If the reach of ISIS can extend into Europe, it can extend into Central and South America. A recruiting drive there by ISIS could potentially usher the Islamist threat of “Death to America” into every American city and town.

ISIS-recruited terrorists hidden in the flood across our borders would turn al-Baghdadi’s ‘see you in New York’ from an idle boast into a grim prophecy.

Stunner! Benghazi Was a Base for Illegal Arms Shipments to Syria

The Independent Sentinel

Illegal arms were shipped to Syrian rebels from Libya and this could be the reason Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton lied and claimed the attack on the consulate was the result of a video.

Seymour Hirsch published an investigative report stating that there is an addendum to the Senate Intelligence Committee report which explains what the CIA was doing in Benghazi. Our government was shipping arms from Libya through Turkey to Syrian rebels before we realized they were al-Qaida.

The reason the government lied was probably to conceal an illegal operation to arm Syrian rebels. Ambassador Stevens was the coordinator.

It wasn’t authorized by Congress and it is a blatant violation of law. The CIA claims they were only liaison’s with MI-6 and they didn’t have to get permission from the Senate Intelligence Committee. That is ludicrous. The British had left Benghazi by the time of the attack.

That needs investigating!

What was that again about Al-Qaeda on the run?

American Thinker

From the US Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia comes an Emergency Message for US citizens which transmits a world wide caution on continuing threats from terrorist groups.  The entire document gives the lie to Obama’s declaration from a few years ago that Al-Qaida is in full retreat.  Some excerpts:

Kidnappings and hostage events involving U.S. citizens have become increasingly prevalent (emphasis added) as al Qa`ida and its affiliates have increased attempts to finance their operations through kidnapping for ransom operations. Al-Qa’ida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) and al-Qa’ida in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) are particularly effective with kidnapping for ransom and are using ransom money to fund the range of their activities.

It also seems that since the Obama declaration of victory, al-Qaida has not suffered one iota and is capable of attacks worldwide using its standard terror tactics:

Information also suggests that al-Qa’ida and its affiliated organizations continue to plan terrorist attacks against U.S. interests in multiple regions, including Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. These attacks may employ a wide variety of tactics including suicide operations, assassinations, kidnappings, hijackings, and bombings.

Read the whole thing since it gives an excellent summation of terrorist operations around the globe.  What is particularly damning is the situation in the Philippines.  Under Bush ’43, US Special Forces and their Philippine counterparts rendered Abu Sayyaf virtually impotent by a series of operations which eliminated the group’s leaders and several of their successors.  Under Obama, Abu Sayyaf and other Islamic groups have had a resurgence in Mindanao and the Sulu Archipelago:

In September 2013, elements of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) occupied portions of the city of Zamboanga and engaged in a lengthy battle with security forces which reduced large parts of the city to rubble.  [snip]  On November 15, 2013, gunmen, linked to the Abu Sayyaf Group, raided a resort on Pom Pom Island off the eastern coast of Sabah, killing a tourist from Taiwan and taking his wife hostage.

I await the national security correspondents of the MSM for their analysis of this warning, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

The Obama Doctrine Revealed

American Thinker

The basic foreign policy principles of various presidencies have been dubbed “doctrines.” In most cases such “doctrines” are gleaned from the practices of a given president’s foreign policy and pieced together from various official documents and even memos. One notable exception being  the Monroe Doctrine which was put forward as a public doctrine and a warning to European countries.

Introduced on December 2, 1823, in President Monroe’s state of the union speech, it basically warned European nations to butt out of  South America and the Americas generally. In return the US would butt out of European affairs. By contrast the Bush Doctrine was never put forward as a formal document but is a codification of Bush administration practices and the justification advanced defending those practices. Basically the Bush doctrine is that the US has the right to intervene  in foreign countries and depose regimes that pose a threat to the US and to advance the cause of democracy in such areas of conflict.

Similarly, The Obama administration has never put forward a Monroe-like doctrine of its approach to foreign policy. Rather the public is treated to sonorous pieties about mutual respect and bringing old adversaries together in the spirit of mutual cooperation with benefit to all.

But now an Obama doctrine has emerged. And the irony is that the basics of the Obama doctrine have been revealed in a New York Times article designed to remove the Benghazi stain from Hillary Clinton’s tenure as Secretary of State. It is a revisionist piece claiming that Al Qaeda was not involved in the attack on the American consulate. Here is an account from The Weekly Standard:

The Benghazi Disaster reduced to Definitions of Affiliation

Family Security Matters

The controversy ignited by the latest story emanating from the decaying carcass that is the New York Times and it’s writer, David Kirkpatrick, playing the amateur philologist on NBC’s “Meet the Press“, magnifies the ludicrousness of political discourse in the second decade of this twenty first century. In one of the most nauseating displays of familial fawning to date, David Gregory all but kissed Kirkpatrick for the dubious conclusions drawn from his investigation into the 2012 Benghazi attack.

The centerpiece of Kirkpatrick’s report is his conclusion about whether or not Ansar Al Sharia was in fact affiliated with or led by Al Qaida agents. He draws his conclusion, which conflicts with standing testimony and conclusions in DC, from “months of interviews conducted by the New York Times”. He also concluded that the attack itself, while conducted by a small disparate, unconnected militant group, was in fact launched in retaliation for the now famed YouTube video about Mohammed.

New Terrorist Threat From U.S. Citizens Is Big Worry

Family Security Matters

errorism: Senate Intelligence panel chief Dianne  Feinstein  contradicts President Obama’s claims of terrorist threats  diminishing. The FBI,  meanwhile, warns of Islamist U.S. citizens  attacking the homeland.

CNN’s Candy Crowley, who did so much during the second presidential  debate  last year to help President Obama get re-elected (defending his  false claim  that “I stood in the Rose Garden and I told the American  people and the world  that” Benghazi “was an act of terror” the day  after), was shocked on Sunday  when Senate Intelligence Committee  Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.,  didn’t act as fellow Obama  cheerleader.

“I expected to hear, ‘Oh, we’re safer!'” Crowley responded when  Feinstein  gave a negative answer to Crowley’s question whether the  nation is safer than a  year ago, or two years ago.

Feinstein pointed out that “terror is up worldwide; the statistics  indicate  that. The fatalities are way up … there are new bombs, very  big bombs, trucks  being reinforced for those bombs,” plus “more groups  than ever” and “huge  malevolence out there.”

That’s far removed from Obama’s boast to Jay Leno in August that “the  odds  of dying in a terrorist attack are a lot lower than they are of  dying in a car  accident”; or his claim the same month that al-Qaida “has  been broken apart and  is very weak and does not have a lot of  operational capacity”; or his  announcement in May that America will no  longer wage what he called “a  boundless ‘Global War on Terror.’ “

What Feinstein warns are “more groups than ever” the president  downplays as  “less capable al-Qaida affiliates” who threaten only  “diplomatic facilities and  businesses abroad,” plus “homegrown  extremists.”
