More PC Cowards Cave: Ole Miss Won’t Play Dixie

One more effort is being made to destroy all southern pride.
In a few years, they will go after the Washington Monument. They could one day call it the Barack Obama memorial and put a minaret on top. After all, he turned us towards Socialism.
Ole Miss’ band will no longer play “Dixie” before football games. The athletics department, undoubtedly under pressure, said it’s time for new traditions. It’s like telling the Germans they can’t sing Deutschland and can’t drink beer and eat sausages.
YouTube appears to have removed most of the Dixie songs. I had to really hunt for them. There is nothing racist about the song unless mentioning “land of cotton” is now verboten.
Dixie–a song that was the unofficial anthem of the Confederate States of America during the Civil War–has been a staple of Pride of the South’s lineup for nearly seven decades, wafb reported. Recently the band stopped playing the song during games, but had continued to perform it in The Grove on game days.
The athletic department released the following statement about the change:
“The newly expanded and renovated Vaught-Hemingway Stadium will further highlight our best traditions and create new ones that give the Ole Miss Rebels the best home field advantage in college football. Because the Pride of the South is such a large part of our overall experience and tradition, the Athletics Department asked them to create a new and modern pregame show that does not include Dixie and is more inclusive for all fans.”
The song is harmless now. The south lost. This is just a nice song that makes the southerners feel a sense of harmless pride. The war has been over for more than 150 years.
This attack on the song is moronic. Most of the southerners fighting didn’t have slaves. They were fighting for their new country.
Are they going to replace it with Beyoncé singing and dancing to anti-police songs and pro-domestic terrorist groups? Maybe Black Lives Matter has a theme song they can play. They do sing, “Pigs in a blanket, fry ’em like bacon.”
This next version is great.
The Black Lives Matter troublemakers at Ole Miss wanted the state flag removed also — so it was. They can’t be called Ole Miss because that is somehow racist and they can’t be called the Rebels any longer.
So where does it end?
It needs to have never begun.

Obama Lied – and We’re All Potential Hostages
What a difference it makes when the media does what it is supposed to in our constitutional republic! A free press is supposed to hold officials accountable. Tragically, that mostly hasn’t happened during the Obama years.
In recent days, however, the Wall Street Journal revealed that the Obama administration paid a $400 million ransom to the jihadist Iranian government for several American hostages. President Obama and his flacks insisted no such thing had happened.
Well, yesterday, the Journal published the details of the carefully synchronized transaction that resulted in the release of the Americans as pallets of cash were turned over to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps – the mullahs’ terrorism arm.
The State Department’s spokesman finally confirmed the obvious: Team Obama did pay ransom.
It’s bad enough that we have been repeatedly lied to. Worse yet, we are all now potential hostages.
