More Betrayal From Colin Powell, Who Backs Obama Iran Deal

Just when I thought nothing could further lower my opinion of Colin Powell, who as a reward for his racial background was offered great honors by Republicans, and who repaid these honors by twice endorsing Barack Obama for president:

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell expressed support for the nuclear agreement with Iran on Sunday, calling the various planks Iranian leaders accepted “remarkable” and dismissing critics’ concerns over its implementation.

“It’s a pretty good deal,” he said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

That would be highly debatable even if Iran’s compliance could be reliably verified under the deal. Since there is no guarantee of compliance, it is not debatable but laughable.

Apparently solidarity with Obama trumps everything — even the need to prevent our worst enemy and the world’s leading sponsor of Muslim terrorism from acquiring the means to destroy our country.

I guess we shouldn’t be surprised.

As most Americans are unaware, by federal law those serving in the nation’s military are suppose to receive a yearly pay raise in accordance with a formula utilized by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The House of Representatives traditionally uses whatever figure the BLS sends them to factor into any given Fiscal Year Budget to be sent to the Commander-in-Chief. But Barack Obama has again decided to use an emergency loophole in the US Code to keep the formulated pay raise from the troops.
