Washington’s Al Qaeda Ally Now Leading ISIS in Libya –

The revelations that US ally Abdelhakim Belhadj is now leading ISIS in Libya should come as no surprise to those who have followed US policy in that country, and throughout the region. It illustrates for the umpteenth time that Washington has provided aid and comfort to precisely those forces it claims to be fighting around the world.

According to recent reports, Abdelhakim Belhadj has now firmly ensconced himself as the organizational commander of the ISIS presence inside Libya. The information comes from an unnamed US intelligence official who has confirmed that Belhadj is supporting and coordinating the efforts of the ISIS training centers in eastern Libya around the city of Derna, an area long known as a hotbed of jihadi militancy.

While it may not seem to be a major story – Al Qaeda terrorist turns ISIS commander – the reality is that since 2011 the US and its NATO allies have held up Belhadj as a “freedom fighter.” They portrayed him as a man who courageously led his fellow freedom-lovers against the “tyrannical despot” Gaddafi whose security forces at one time captured and imprisoned many members of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG), including Belhadj.

Rahm Emanuel, the Mayor of Chicago, is in a runoff election for his position with Jesus ‘Chuy’ Garcia who has been labeled a communist by some and who has strong ties to communists.

As far back as 1986, Garcia was labeled “100 percent communist” by supermarket owner Guadalupe Martinez, now deceased, who ran against him for a position on the city council. During the 1986 campaign Martinez said, “My opponent Jesus Garcia is 100 percent communist, if not 110 percent.” Garcia denied it and won hands down.

It might be time to root for Progressive Rahm Emanuel though he’s probably not much better.

Garcia refers to himself as a Progressive. If Garcia isn’t a communist, he, in the least, has had a lot of communist friends and supporters now and in the past.

Garcia has a history of being honored and supported by communists.

SCOTUS Rejects Appeal By US Flag-Wearing California Students On Cinco De Mayo…

The Supreme Court has denied an appeal from former California high school students who were ordered to turn their American flag T-shirts inside out during a celebration of the Cinco de Mayo holiday at school.

The justices did not comment Monday in leaving in place an appellate ruling that found that school officials acted appropriately because their concerns about racial violence outweighed students’ freedom of expression rights. Administrators feared the American-flag shirts would enflame the passions of Latino students celebrating the Mexican holiday.

The onetime students at Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill, California, argued that school officials gave a “heckler’s veto” to the objecting students.

The brother and sister who won a landmark Vietnam era student speech case at the Supreme Court also supported the appeal.

Persia) has been a rival of the West since the days of Leonidas, those two governments now work together toward a common goal:

An Iranian journalist who defected from his country while covering its ongoing nuclear talks has revealed startling information regarding America’s position at the negotiating table.

Amir Hossein Motaghi, who reportedly was employed at Iran’s state-run Iran Student Correspondents Association, told a London-based Iranian opposition channel that the U.S. was shilling for Iran in the ongoing negotiations over the regime’s nuclear weapons program.

“The US negotiating team are mainly there to speak on Iran’s behalf with other members of the 5+1 countries and convince them of a deal,” Mottaghi told Irane Farda, according to UK’s The Telegraph.

A common impression has been confirmed.

[Mottaghi] is now seeking political asylum in Switzerland, after utilizing his opportunity to cover the talks in order to flee his home country. …

“My conscience would not allow me to carry out my profession anymore,” Motaghi said of his frustration working under the Iranian regime’s strict controls. He added that there was no “sense” in becoming a journalist in Iran because he only wrote whatever information was fed to him.

You can see why Motaghi chose not to defect to the USA. What would be the point?

Corruption Scandals Led to Harry Reid’s Abrupt “Retirement”

You’d never know it from the mainstream media puff pieces of Harry Reid’s sudden retirement, but it was a long string of corruption scandals-including a recent one involving his attorney son-that drove the veteran Nevada senator to abruptly leave public office.

For nearly a decade Judicial Watch has investigated and exposed Reid’s involvement in a multitude of transgressions and JW even warned the Senate Ethics Committee, but not surprisingly, no action was ever taken. On multiple occasions the Senate minority leader appeared on JW’s “Ten Most Wanted Corrupt Politicians” list for his role in a number of political scandals that got more serious as his seniority and clout in Congress increased.

As far back as 2006 Reid was in hot water for violating Senate rules by concealing a seven-figure payoff on a suspicious land deal orchestrated by a longtime friend known for political bribery and mob ties. The influential senator secretly collected a $1.1 million profit on land he hadn’t personally owned for years. To hide the deal, Reid transferred ownership, legal liability and tax consequences to a company owned by a former casino lawyer who has been investigated by federal authorities. Months earlier Red got busted for accepting gifts from a state agency trying to influence him. In that scheme the lawmaker quietly took very expensive ringside boxing tickets from the Nevada Athletic Commission while that state agency was trying to influence him on the sport’s federal regulation.
