FEMA: One More Obama Scandal for the Media to Obscure

Why is it that the media almost always want to distance President Obama from the various scandals occurring during his presidency? It is as if he has nothing to do with the people he has appointed to run the various federal agencies, and no responsibility for their incompetence or corruption. Here is but the latest example:

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is reviewing insurance claims for 144,000 New York and New Jersey victims of Superstorm Sandy. The storm, which was actually Hurricane Sandy, hit the U.S. coast near Atlantic City, New Jersey, on October 29, 2012. This FEMA review was prompted by lawsuits, an ongoing criminal inquiry, and news reporting that exposed the systematic, corrupt low-balling of homeowners by insurance companies working with FEMA. “They [FEMA] probably orchestrated the whole thing,” one victim, Doug Quinn, told CBS News. “A Sandy task force is being formed to evaluate the nation’s flood insurance program,” it reports.

The media would likely have treated this as a front-page scandal under George W. Bush’s leadership.

Osama bin Laden’s Bodyguard Cleared for Release from GITMO by Obama Administration

Saeed Sarem Jarabh, once classified as a forever prisoner, is close to being released. The 44-year old Yemeni has miraculously become a low-level detainee. He is a member of Al Qaeda and was Osama bin Laden’s bodyguard.

This release stems from Obama’s insistence on closing GITMO at all costs. He will free him even if the cost is the death of some in our military and Americans overseas and on the homeland at the hands of these terrorists. Obama is very generous with our lives. All he cares about is his radical ideology.

Ashton Carter promised during his confirmation hearing to not endanger Americans by freeing terrorist detainees . So much for that promise.

Blood will be on the hands of this administration.

Graeme Wood recently rattled a lot of people on the Left of the U.S. ideological spectrum by writing something in The Atlantic that many of those not wearing PC blinders already knew. Wood, shockingly, reported that ISIS really is Islamic, just as its name proclaims and its leaders insist, directly contradicting President Obama’s own notorious assessment. Per Wood, “The reality is that the Islamic State is Islamic. Very Islamic.”

Islamists get their motivation from mainstream Islamic texts, albeit from a highly literalist reading.  Wood quoted Princeton professor of Islam and specialist in its extremist ideologies, Bernard Haykel, who went a step further: “What’s striking about them is not just the literalism, but also the seriousness with which they read these texts… There is an assiduous, obsessive seriousness that Muslims don’t normally have.”

Senate Democrats Vote to Pay Cash Benefits to Illegal Immigrants

The Treasury Department Inspector General for Tax Administration has repeatedly warned that illegal immigrants are collecting billion of dollars in refundable tax credits to which they are not legally entitled. This outrageous situation can be corrected rather easily, by requiring tax filers to supply a valid Social Security number in order to claim the Additional Child Tax Credit. Today in the Senate Budget Committee, Jeff Sessions proposed an amendment that would do exactly that, thereby saving American taxpayers billions of dollars that are flowing improperly to illegal aliens.

Incredibly, the ten Democrats on the committee voted in lockstep to keep the illegal money flowing. It is hard to believe, but you can see it for yourself:

It is hard to imagine a motive other than sheer perversity for the Democrats’ votes. If there was any doubt in your mind, this places beyond dispute the fact that Democrats are on the side of illegal immigrants, and are hostile to the interests of American citizens.
