New York City Schools to Observe Muslim Holidays

New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio announced recently that the nation’s largest school system will observe the two most important Muslim holidays.
Today’s Zaman reported:

America’s largest public school system will observe the two most important Muslim holidays starting later this year, a policy change hailed Wednesday by Islamic leaders in New York City.

Under the new policy, the city’s 1.1 million-pupil public school system will close on Sept. 24 for Eid al-Adha, which is also known as the Festival of Sacrifice. The holiday of Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan, will be observed during summer school in 2016.

“Hundreds of thousands of Muslim families will no longer have to choose between honoring the most sacred days on their calendar or attending school,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said in his announcement.

Muslim leaders welcomed the announcement.

Linda Sarsour, a Muslim community advocate and public school parent who joined de Blasio for the announcement at a school in Brooklyn, said, “This is what New York City is all about – recognition, inclusion and respect.”

Estimates of the number of Muslims living in New York City vary from 600,000 to 1 million.

Community leaders have long urged adding the two Muslim holidays to the school calendar, and the City Council passed a resolution supporting the change in 2009.

Well Mr. Speaker the charade is over. Obama has received just what he wanted and you and Mitch helped him. You can both now get back in line, knee pads in hand, ready to kiss the bony rear of your leader and ask, “What do you want next, Sire?”

A real man once called some of our foes the, “Axis of Evil.” Well I see another axis right here in what is left of America. Between you and McConnell and Obama you are destroying the America you grew up in and it apparently isn’t going to stop. A more ineffective Congress hasn’t been seen in my lifetime (I am 79). Committee meeting after committee and no one has resolved one thing yet, IN SIX YEARS!

The House, led by what has turned out to be led by one of the most two-faced people in Washington, has just turned this country over to illegals, terrorists, and more welfare recipients. I can’t be sure but I believe it was on purpose to appease your donors. This certainly not the actions of any American that believes in this country. I am beginning to think that not only is Obama not American but the so-called leaders we have elected are of the same philosophy. What but any stretch of the imagination can the bill you just passed be good for this country.

This Republican Party has turned into a party of little girls. You are so afraid that someone will say something bad about you that you are willing to sell the CITIZENS of this country down the river. So afraid that you are aiding the Democrats in destroying America daily.

Democrats may be Socialist but I have to give them credit for sticking to what they believe in. Unlike Republicans that put on the charade of doing the right thing only to sell the farm when it comes to actually accomplishing the right thing.

In case you missed it this is one teed off CITIZEN that has given up on hoping that the party I once belonged to for fifty years will in fact do what the CITIZENS want.

We Can Deport 11 Million Illegal Aliens

The Obama Administration, Jeb Bush, John McCain, Lindsay Graham and the media’s take on why Congress needs to enact “comprehensive immigration reform” is that it’s impossible to deport the 11 million plus illegal aliens here, or as the president calls them, “Americans in waiting.”

Of course, it’s possible. The notion that this country can’t find these people is simply ridiculous. Here’s why.

According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, there are over 461,000 local, county, and State law enforcement officers in the country. There are also about 120,000 federal law enforcement agents. If Congress gave state and local police officers the authority to enforce federal immigration laws, most of the 11 million illegal aliens could be identified and deported in about a year. Let’s do the math.

Here’s a scary thought………..

Socialism is not the Answer

From Day 1, the Community Organizer in Chief has walked over the US Constitution and continues to do so today and Congress doesn’t do Jack to stop him. So, here’s a scary thought…….what if the Usurper himself comes out and says he is going to be President for Life? Would Congress, could Congress do anything then? The Dictator in Chief would have had plenty of time too get all the right people in all the right places and then some.
