Dem Cesspool D.C. Considers Allowing Non-Citizens To Vote…

Vote

Weasel Zippers

Not like it’s going to change anything in D.C.

Via Weekly Standard:

While many critics skewer President Obama’s recent amnesty-granting executive action, D.C.’s municipal lawmakers have their own plans for the next battle on the immigration-citizenship front. Invoking considerations of fairness and justice against “anti-immigrant hysteria,” D.C. council member David Grosso (I-At-Large) and several fellow council members on Tuesday introduced the Local Resident Voting Rights Amendment Act of 2015, a bill to grant non-American citizens residing in the D.C.-area the ability to vote in municipal elections.

In keeping with similar initiatives in 2013 and 2004, the bill would give suffrage to non-citizen D.C. residents who “have permanent residency status.” Grosso cited U.S. Census Bureau figures from 2012 approximating that over 90 percent of the 53,975 foreign-born, non-naturalized U.S. citizens in the District are 18 years of age or older, to weight down with seriousness his pronouncement that “these are taxpayers who should have the opportunity to have their voices heard in local elections.”

If the bill passes, it would not make D.C. the first to have allowed non-citizens to vote in local elections. Currently, half a dozen towns or jurisdictions in Maryland, including Takoma Park, allow the practice, while Chicago allows all (presumably legal) residents to vote in school board elections. In much the same vein, non-citizens in California now have the right to act as poll monitors, to practice law (even if an illegal alien), and also to serve on juries.

Obama Administration to Award Iranian Regime $11.9 Billion Through June

(ISNA)

Gateway Pundit

The Obama administration admitted to Israeli colleagues in December 2013 that they greatly underestimated the economic benefits Tehran would reap from Geneva accord.

The Iranian regime will receive $20 billion in sanctions relief, not $7 billion as was originally reported.

This week the Obama administration paid the regime $490 million in cash assets. A total of $11.9 billion will be released to Iran when the talks end in June.
The Washington Free Beacon reported:

The Obama administration on Wednesday paid $490 million in cash assets to Iran and will have released a total of $11.9 billion to the Islamic Republic by the time nuclear talks are scheduled to end in June, according to figures provided by the State Department.

Today’s $490 million release, the third such payment of this amount since Dec. 10, was agreed to by the Obama administration under the parameters of another extension in negotiations over Tehran’s contested nuclear program that was inked in November.

Iran will receive a total of $4.9 billion in unfrozen cash assets via 10 separate payments by the United States through June 22, when talks with Iran are scheduled to end with a final agreement aimed at curbing the country’s nuclear work, according to a State Department official.

Iran received $4.2 billion in similar payments under the 2013 interim agreement with the United States and was then given another $2.8 billion by the Obama administration last year in a bid to keep Iran committed to the talks through November, when negotiators parted ways without reaching an agreement.

The Iranian regime announced the construction of two new nuclear reactors this week.

State of the Union: Obama ‘disses’ fallen cop heroes while honoring lawbreaker

Family Security Matters

While past presidents have always invited special guests to sit with their spouses during the annual State of the Union address to the nation, historians have pointed out they usually invited those who either achieved an act of bravery or contributed to the betterment of the United States. However, President Barack Obama is known for inviting guests to sit with First Lady Michelle Obama to illustrated what he believes are his achievements and his contributions. Such was the case with Obama’s special guest on Tuesday night, someone who according to U.S. law is in the United States illegally, college student Ana Zamora.

Several law enforcement officers were angry over Obama’s failure to include at least one family member who lost a military or law enforcement serving husband or son such as the two NYPD officers, Det. Rafael Ramos and Det. Wenjian Liu assassinated by a black, Islamist named Ismaaiyl Abdullah-Muhammad Brinsley. In fact, there were no widows or fatherless/motherless children of soldiers or cops seen with the First Lady, according to former police officer Iris Aquino. “Why would Obama invite them? After all, he and his Attorney General have shown repeatedly their dislike for cops,” the Hispanic cop said.
