We’ve all seen signs, bumper stickers, and billboards that caused us to stop and think, smile, or shake our heads in wonder.
Seeing this sign would evoke a bit of a different reaction — respect, perhaps, mingled with a little healthy fear.
It was apparently posted by a US Marine in lieu of a more generic “no trespassing” sign. We think it’s probably more effective, but you can scroll down to see for yourself. (H/T Young Conservatives)
We like this sign because it contains so many constitutional reminders in such a quick read.
Obviously, the sign itself is an expression of free speech, as protected by the First Amendment to the Constitution. It also carries a clear message about the Marine’s position on the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.
There’s even an implication here for the Fourth Amendment prohibition against illegal search and seizure that we respect.
In fact, it reminds us a little of another sign containing multiple messages, coincidentally also brought to our attention by a US Marine.
Apparently, these guys have a thing for awesome signs.
Anyway, here it is. Let us know if you think it’s as cool as we do.
The best remedy for a bad guy with a gun, the saying goes, is a good guy with a gun.
Seems much more effective than one of those lame “violators will be prosecuted” signs, doesn’t it?
At any rate, we agree: We have now been properly negotiated with.
