In the event you missed it, the Democratic-Socialist Left has been absolutely giddy about the statement released on July 31, 2014, by the Republican majority House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) pertaining to their investigation into Benghazi. The type of giddy that Chris Matthews described in 2008 when he said “I felt this thrill going up my leg” as he listened to then-Presidential candidate Barack Hussein Obama speak.
The giddiness, of course, relates to the reported finding that there was no deliberate wrongdoing by the Obama administration in the 2012 attack in Benghazi. A closer examination of the facts, however, suggests a potentially embarrassing case “premature elation,” at least in the case of Benghazi.
Although you would think the Socialist Left would be troubled by premature elation as it fails to satisfy the factual needs of an inquiring public, few appear to be. Leading the list of those afflicted by premature elation appear to include not just the entire staff of Media Matters, but specifically writers John Kerr and Jeremy Holden, as they continue to use the word hoax[ia] in reference to the death of four Americans. The use of the word “hoax,” particularly in consideration of the horrific deaths of four Americans, is an affront to journalism and fact-based reporting. Perhaps it is used to compensate for the embarrassment of premature elation. Perhaps… but perhaps an unsatisfied public might find some actual relief in the following factual disclosures, and why their celebratory giddiness is not only unbecoming, but completely misplaced.
Mass To Be Held For Slain US Journalist Foley AAugust 24 2014 ROCHESTER, N.H. James Foley, the U.S. journalist slain by Islamic State militants after being held in captivity for nearly two years, will be remembered Sunday at a Mass of Remembrance in his hometown.
Foley was kidnapped on Thanksgiving Day 2012 while covering the Syrian uprising. The Islamic State posted a Web video Tuesday showing his murder and said it was in retaliation for U.S. airstrikes in northern Iraq.
President Barack Obama has called Foley a hero for telling the stories of oppressed people in war-torn regions like Syria and Libya. The U.S. launched a raid this summer to rescue Foley and other hostages, but special forces were unable to locate the captives.
The Mass at 2 p.m. Sunday is in Foley’s hometown church, Our Lady of the Holy Rosary in Rochester.

Islamic State: A campaigning president assured us that al-Qaida was in retreat and its Syrian spin-off was just “JV.” Now the Pentagon admits that this al-Qaida spawn is worse. The U.S. never had to allow this situation.
To get an idea of why this White House has placed America in what Senate Armed Services Committee ranking Republican James Inhofe of Oklahoma calls “the most dangerous position we’ve ever been in as a nation,” we turn to one of Obama’s biggest mainstream media devotees.
Personally, I believe a prosecutor could make an excellent case that Obama committed treason when he swapped deserter and probable defector Bowe Bergdahl for five top Taliban terrorists. Reasonable people might disagree. But we can all agree that he broke the law:
President Obama violated a “clear and unambiguous” law when he released five Guantanamo Bay detainees in exchange for Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl, the Government Accountability Office reported Thursday.
“[The Department of Defense] violated section 8111 because it did not notify the relevant congressional committees at least 30 days in advance of the transfer,” the GAO report said. “In addition, because DOD used appropriated funds to carry out the transfer when no money was available for that purpose, DOD violated the Antideficiency Act. The Antideficiency Act prohibits federal agencies from incurring obligations exceeding an amount available in an appropriation.”
Even liberals like Dianne Feinstein, Jeffrey Toobin, and Jonathan Turley concur.
Unfortunately, this is no longer a nation governed by laws. Instead it is governed by Hope & Change made flesh in the form of Obama, leaving him free to impose whatever dictates might advance his inscrutable objectives.
Kudos to Fr. Jim Sichko and the parishioners of St. Mark’s Church. The Islamic State painted the ن on the door of the homes of Christians in Mosul to mark them for extortion (as per Qur’an 9:29) or extermination. Christians and all free people worldwide should be standing in solidarity with those persecuted Christians, but St. Mark’s is unfortunately in quite rare company: most Catholics (and Christians in general) would never dream of taking on this symbol, as it might harm their precious and spectacularly unproductive “dialogue” with Muslims, and could even be construed as “Islamophobic.” Heaven forfend!
“Special Symbol At Richmond Church Shines Light On World Issue,” Lex18.com, August 5, 2014:
A special symbol on the door of a Richmond Catholic church has people around the world talking.
It’s a symbol that shines brightly on the door of St. Mark Church, piquing the interest of many and sparking conversations far beyond Kentucky.
The symbol – the Aramaic symbol for the letter “n,” which means Nazarean – was placed on the door Thursday evening.
