Politicians sometimes say things they regret. Unless they say so later in a memoir or even–less frequently–a public retraction or apology, we don’t always know what those things are. Often, but not always, they are statements that make the speaker seem out of touch with world events.
For example, George W. Bush probably regrets telling FEMA Director Michael Brown that he was doing “a heck of a job” in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. His father undoubtedly wishes he’d never told anyone to read his lips. We’re not sure what Bill Clinton’s most regretted remark is–that would depend on what our definition of “is” is, probably.
It may not turn out to be Politifact’s 2014 Lie of the Year to succeed President Obama’s promise that we’d all be keeping our doctors and health plans, but Nancy Pelosi just made a statement so utterly ridiculous, so outrageously uninformed, that we have to believe she’s going to regret it for a long, long time.
On video available below or from IJReview, the former Democratic speaker of the house, in comments that appear to be aimed at supporting Israel’s right to defend itself against Hamas rocket attacks, said this: “And we have to confer with the Qataris, who have told me over and over again that Hamas is a humanitarian organization.”
It’s not often that we’re speechless, but this brings us pretty close.
CNN’s Candy Crowley, hosting the interview, followed up: “The U.S. thinks they’re a terrorist organization though, correct? Do you?”
After what literally appears to be a long blink to cover a blank stare, Pelosi replies: “Mm-hmm. And we’ve had that discussion.”
Whatever that means.
Qatar is one of the few nations in the world that refuses to recognize that Hamas, an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood, is comprised of terrorists. The United States is not, having designated Hamas a Foreign Terrorist Organization in 1997, when Pelosi represented California’s 8th District in the House.
Moreover, although Pelosi seems to be defending Israel in this interview, she seems oblivious to the fact that Hamas has its desire and intention to destroy both Israel and the Jewish people written into its charter.
Could this finally explain Democratic support for radical Islamic terrorist groups like Hamas? Could they really…just not know?
Socialism is not the Answer 
Pelosi- besides being a sef-induldgent witch- is either so brain dead she doesn’t know what a real Terrorist is, or shes so deep in with Obumma she will say whatever she needs to in order to keep her position and caash-flow. Either way she needs to go.
I think all that botox fried her brain cells.
