APPS stands for Armed & Prohibited Persons System. The premise is confiscation of legal firearms from “prohibited” individuals. The reality is an excuse for universal registration.

Iranian Fars News Service reported a massive explosion in Qazvin, Iran today. The origins may have been nuclear.
Arutz Sheva reported:
An immense explosion has been heard throughout the northern Iranian city of Qazvin, semi-official Fars news agency reported, and many casualties are expected from the blast.
Around 1.1 million people live in the city, which is located about 100 miles north of Tehran.
The blast may be related to nuclear development in Iran, according to the Los Angeles Times. Iranian officials in the past have strongly denied claims by Mujahedin Khalq Organization, or MKO, a cult-like Iranian exile group, that it has a secret nuclear enrichment facility in Abyek, near the major city, according to the daily.
The source of the blast remains undetermined. Several mystery explosions have been reported in the past several years in the region, none of which were ever verified.
In 2010, Bloomberg reported that Iran was developing a secret nuclear site in Qazvin.

A fire broke out, engulfing the city in a cloud of smoke. Roads leading to the site of the fire within a 2km radius have been closed off and people evacuated, according to the semi-official Fars news agency.
Boko Haram, the Islamic terrorist organization in Nigeria, is in the news because it kidnapped more than 200 teenage girls and now threatens to sell them into slavery. (That’s what a real war on women looks like.) This is just the latest of many outrages committed by Boko Haram, which is guilty of many acts of mass murder. But it has now come out that for two years, Hillary Clinton blocked efforts to add Boko Haram to the State Department’s list of terrorist organizations.
This wasn’t just an episode of bureaucratic indifference. The Justice Department, the FBI, the CIA and many in Congress lobbied the State Department to list Boko Haram, but Clinton stood firm in defense of the Nigerian terrorists. Now, with the kidnapping outrage in the news, Hillary is tweeting away on behalf of the Nigerian girls. (THAT will do a lot of good!) But where was she in 2011 and 2012?
A week before the 2012 election, I wrote:
Someone at the highest level of the United States government made the decision to abandon American consular staff to their fate and cede U.S. sovereign territory to an al-Qaeda assault team — and four out of five Sunday news shows don’t think it’s worth talking about.
In the smoking ruins of that consulate in Benghazi, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods fought for hours and killed 60 of the enemy before they were overwhelmed, waiting for the cavalry that never came. They’re still waiting – for Candy Crowley, David Gregory, Bob Schieffer, and George Stephanopoulos to do their job.
Democrats and their media enablers openly giggle at the word “Benghazi” now. So funny, isn’t it? Those provincial simpletons at Fox News are still droning on about dead Americans in Benghazi as if anybody but their drooling rubes care about it, ha-ha… If the Democrats are right about that, it doesn’t speak well for the American people. Those four Americans died serving the United States – not Obama, not Clinton, but their fellow Americans. And they’re owed not the mawkish, hollow, self-serving eulogies written by hack staffers for the President and the Secretary of State to read over the coffins, but the truth about how and why they died. It’s odd, even for the insular Obama cultists, that so many people find that a laughing matter.

Al-Qaeda called this week for car bombings at US shopping malls.
KUSI News 9 reported, via Religion of Piece:
KUSI.com – KUSI News – San Diego CA – News, Weather, PPR
From the KUSI report:
In a recent issue of Inspire Magazine, regarded as the Vanity Fair of Al Qaeda, Al Qaeda calls for Jihad car bomb attacks on certain American cities – including Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington D.C., New York and northern Virginia where the CIA is headquartered. Ron Bee is a former State Department and Pentagon employee and was asked what would happen if a car bomb were to go off at a major American shopping mall, and what would be the impact on the American economy?
“People would stay home, they wouldn’t go to the malls. They’d go home to wait to hear that (all was OK)… we all know what happened after 9/11: everybody stayed home. They didn’t go shopping. They didn’t fly. The airlines went under, so it could have a major impact.”
The article makes reference to Fiesal Shahzads, the Times Square bomber whose bomb was discovered and subsequently diffused. Al Qaeda says:
“Many Fiesal Shahzads are residing inside America and all they need is the knowledge of how to make car bombs… and the good news is it can be prepared in a home kitchen.”
The intersection of 204th St. and 35the Avenue in Queens was renamed “Salman Hamdani Way” this week, after Mohammed Salman Hamdani, the son of Pakistani immigrants and a devout Muslim.
Hamdani was a police cadet who ran into the towers on 9/11. While we’re not suggesting his heroism was anything but just that, why should he receive the honor of a street name just because he’s Muslim?
The Council on American and Islamic Relations (CAIR), which is tied to Hamas, a prominent Islamic terrorist group, applauded the city’s appeasement to complaining Muslims at the street name dedication.
Family Security Matters
No, that’s not the actual title. Sharia-ism is Here: The Battle to Control Women and Everyone Else might have been called that but doubtless Joy Brighton, the author, would have encountered brand or trademark infringement problems with the publisher of the popular and successful For Dummies series, John Wiley & Sons. I also suspect that Wiley & Sons would have been horrified by the idea of publishing such an “Islamophobic” book anyway. It has published Islam for Dummies and The Koran for Dummies, both of which, to judge by their Amazon descriptions, are treacly, inoffensive, sanitized guides to a highly “misunderstood” and “misperceived” religion-cum-ideology.
Brighton’s opus is a generously illustrated and annotated book intended as a “show n’ tell book for national security, civil right and women’s right activists and lobbyists in America.” It is meant to be read by, and serve as, a handy reference guide for anyone who is aware of the peril posed by Islam as it is practiced around the world, in the West, and especially in the U.S., but who really hasn’t digested the scale of the threat or any of its details. And it isn’t just about Islam’s crusade to control women. It truly is about Islam’s designs on everyone.
