Elena Kagan’s Work to Make Constitutions More Shariah-Compliant

Big Peace

Kagan, Feldman, and the Rise of the Islamic State

To expand Harvard’s capacity to sell Shariah law, Kagan hired Noah Feldman in 2007, and in 2008 Feldman published his valentine to Shariah: “The Fall and Rise of the Islamic State,” which argues for democratically elected “Islamist” (aka Muslim Brotherhood) parties to take control of Muslim states in order to govern under Shariah law.  Kagan rewarded Feldman’s Shariah advocacy by giving him the endowed Bemis Chair in International Law on September 16, 2008.   His speech accepting the Bemis chair advocated an “experimental Constitution” that “embraces international institutions.”  The New Republic’s Leon Wieseltier devastating critique of Feldman’s shilling for Shariah included this insight:

Eboo Patel

A religion adviser to President Obama has close ties to the imam who wants to build a 13-story Islamic cultural center near Ground Zero. The two have been documented together discussing America as “the ideal place for a renewal of Islam,” WND has learned.

In February, Obama named a Chicago Muslim, Eboo Patel, to his Advisory Council on Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships. Patel is the founder and executive director of Chicago-based Interfaith Youth Core, which says it promotes pluralism by teaming people of different faiths on service projects.

BP caught using altered image of command center

BP photoshop

Is a picture worth more or less than a thousand words if it’s digitally altered?

John Aravosis of AMERICAblog made an interesting find Monday night: A high-resolution image on BP’s website of the troubled company’s Houston-based Deepwater Horizon response command center had been altered.

The altered image was later removed by BP and replaced with what they say is the original (the altered image is above and the original is below). You’ll notice that three underwater images were inserted onto screens to the right on a wall of video feeds in the altered image, where blank images exist on the screens in the original.

The photo flap inspired the usually staid Washington Post to quip, “Apparently BP is no more adept at doctoring photos than it is at plugging deep-sea oil leaks.”

BP spokesman Scott Dean told the Post’s Steven Mufson that there was no diabolical plot to photographically beef up the company’s command center. Rather, he said, a BP photographer with completely benign intentions just slipped the images in.

“Normally we only use Photoshop for the typical purposes of color correction and cropping,” Dean told the paper. “In this case they copied and pasted three ROV screen images in the original photo over three screens that were not running video feeds at the time.”

He added, “We’ve instructed our post-production team to refrain from doing this in the future.”

How Eisenhower solved illegal border crossings from Mexico

George W. Bush wasn’t the first Republican president to face a full-blown immigration crisis on the US-Mexican border.

Fifty-three years ago, when newly elected Dwight Eisenhower moved into the White House, America’s southern frontier was as porous as a spaghetti sieve. As many as 3 million illegal migrants had walked and waded northward over a period of several years for jobs in California, Arizona, Texas, and points beyond.

Illegal Aliens Get Millions In Monthly Welfare Checks

Judicial Watch

On the verge of going bankrupt with an astounding $26.3 billion deficit, the nation’s most populous state is considering saving hundreds of millions of dollars annually by cutting monthly welfare payments to illegal immigrants.

The savings doesn’t even include the billions of dollars that California spends annually to educate, incarcerate and medically treat the 2.7 million illegal aliens (7% of the state’s population) who live in the state that has so generously offered them sanctuary for decades. It turns out that legislators are finally realizing that illegal immigrants are draining their precious Golden State.
