Coast Guard Head Was Informed of Maine Oil Boom on 5/21. Yesterday, He Claimed He Didn’t Know

Auburn, Maine, company Packgen has miles of oil spill containment boom on hand and has the capacity to produce upwards of 100,000 additional feet of boom a day. That inventory and that capacity has been available to help the Gulf Coast states for nearly a month. The news of this company was reported here at PJM four days ago, on June 8.

The curious case of the lack of interest in Packgen’s boom gets curiouser and curiouser. Yesterday, ABC News had an interview with Admiral Thad Allen, the national incident commander in charge of the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. After a handful of questions about the flow of oil into the Gulf from the wellhead, the topic turned to mitigation of the spill. Here’s the exchange:

Jake Tapper, ABC: I talked to a guy who runs a company in Maine that offers boom, and he has — he says — the ability to make 90,000 feet of boom a day. High quality. BP came there 2 weeks ago, looked at it, they are doing another audit today. He is very frustrated, he says he has a lot of high quality boom to go and it is taking a long time for BP to get its act together. Don’t you need this boom right now?

Allen: Oh we need all the boom wherever we can get it. If you give me the information off camera I’ll be glad to follow up.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit said he had a one-on-one meeting with Obama, in which President Obama told him that he was still a Muslim, the son of a Muslim father, the stepson of Muslim stepfather, that his half brothers in Kenya are Muslims, and that he was sympathetic towards the Muslim agenda.

Finally, during the week of 14-18th of January 2010, just on the eve of my winter tour to the US, Rachel picked up a Nile TV broadcast in which Egyptian Foreign Minister Abul Gheit said on the “Round Table Show” that he had had a one on one meeting with Obama who swore to him that he was a Moslem, the son of a Moslem father and step-son of Moslem step-father, that his half-brothers in Kenya were Moslems, and that he was loyal to the Moslem agenda. He asked that the Moslem world show patience. Obama promised that once he overcame some domestic American problems (Healthcare), that he would show the Moslem world what he would do with Israel. Did anybody notice at President Obama’s Press Conference on the Deep Water Horizon disaster than something was missing in the background? I noticed something didn’t look right and then it hit me. The American Flags was missing behind. Why? Behind him was just yellow curtains, and a couple of gold columns with chandeliers.

I went and researched and looked at all photos of many press conferences (not press briefings) of past presidents as far as I could go and low and behold the American Flags stood proudly behind the President or off to the side. What was the reason for this? This was Obama’s first formal press conference since July of 09 which at that conference were U.S. Flags present. I am pretty sure this time that they had plenty of time to plan this and get it right?

So, maybe there was another motive for the flags absence. We know Obama (or his handlers) carefully choreograph his image, his appearances… It’s why he’s so teleprompter-dependent. Surely he and his advisers know that flag issues have been a lightning rod — even before he was elected. I think this was deliberate. Could it be that Obama really is ashamed of America? Could it be that he thinks he is the citizen of the world which has no flag? Ladies and gentlemen this is very disturbing coming from the office of the Presidency. This is not normal to not have the symbol of the United States and its government in the east room of the White House and it is not very Presidential either. Many patriotic brave men and women have died under the stars and stripes called old glory. This fiasco coupled with the President skipping the laying of the Wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington Cemetary this Memorial Day speaks volumes of the man (or Usurper) that sits in the Oval Office. What say you?

Obama ignores the fact that his Administration failed in their oversight duties of BP!

In a Politico interview Friday, Obama blamed members of congress “who will not be named” that might have resisted calls for stronger regulation of oil companies. Not that Obama had any intention of introducing stronger regulations. This is another pathetic attempt by Obama to place blame for his failures and those of his Administration.

Obama also blamed the Tea Partiers. Redstate has the full story, but here’s the essential quote:

“Some of the same folks who have been hollering and saying ‘do something’ are the same folks who, just two or three months ago, were suggesting that government needs to stop doing so much,” Obama said. “Some of the same people who are saying the president needs to show leadership and solve this problem are some of the same folks who, just a few months ago, were saying this guy is trying to engineer a takeover of our society through the federal government that is going to restrict our freedoms.”

As usual, Obama has it backwards. The problem with BP isn’t that we didn’t have enough federal regulations, it’s that HIS Administration didn’t do the oversight function they are REQUIRED to do. (See here, here, here and here)

I doubt there is ONE Tea Partier who would oppose appropriate federal oversight of offshore oil drilling. This disaster and disdain for Obama’s lame response has nothing to do with Tea Party concerns over Obama’s efforts to “restrict our freedom’s.”

Obama has already taken over the auto companies, banks, insurance and now health care. Yet, he can’t even fulfill his primary responsibility as President (and he IS the #1 person responsible for oversight of offshore oil production) to assure safe operation of oil rigs and oversee cleanup.

Blaming the Tea Partiers is just the latest in a sad display of fingerpointing and blameshifting from Obama. A man who is obviously unequal to the task of being President. It’s no surprise that poll after poll shows the American people BLAME OBAMA for much of the mess!

Obama says he’s looking for an “ass to kick.” I can’t think of a bigger ASS than Obama!

Obama & Co steps up USA Destruction before November Elections

The BP oil disaster was custom-made for The Obama.  It’s a disaster that not only destroys jobs and the lives of the affected humans but, is killing off all wildlife it touches.  The effective oil-skimmer systems utilized by the Saudis and others would work to greatly minimize the damage being caused to the US Gulf Coast.  But, The Obama continues to drag his heels as States and lives are destroyed.

Note: Obama, of course, remains aloof and untouched and continues to refuse all offers of help—only those that truly WILL help—as he smilingly watches and fiddles like Nero while the destruction and death continue.  In fact, it is now apparent that destruction and death follow virtually all of Obama’s actions.  Interesting, isn’t it?

Obama is doing the bare minimum so that destruction will be at an all-time maximum—in order to shove his Cap & Trade bill
