State Department Endorses Islamic Law

Human Events

Last Thursday was “Everybody Draw Muhammad Day,” and Muslims, predictably, are outraged. Thousands of Pakistanis demonstrated against the drawings of Muhammad, and the Pakistani government shut down access to Facebook and YouTube to prevent its citizens from seeing the offending images. (Interestingly enough, images of beheadings and suicide bombings have never given rise to similar acts of censorship anywhere in the Islamic world.)

Since then, several Facebook sites have sprung up announcing an “Everybody Draw the Holocaust Day,” in the mistaken view that anyone in the West will react as strongly to mockery as Muslims will. And the Obama State Department is doing all it can to soothe offended Muslim sensibilities. Assistant Secretary of State Philip J. Crowley said Thursday: “Obviously, this is a difficult and challenging issue. Many of the images that appear today on Facebook were deeply offensive to Muslims and non-Muslims alike.”

POLITICO

While the BP oil geyser pumps millions of gallons of petroleum into the Gulf of Mexico, President Barack Obama and members of Congress may have to answer for the millions in campaign contributions they’ve taken from the oil and gas giant over the years.

BP and its employees have given more than $3.5 million to federal candidates over the past 20 years, with the largest chunk of their money going to Obama, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. Donations come from a mix of employees and the company’s political action committees — $2.89 million flowed to campaigns from BP-related PACs and about $638,000 came from individuals.

On top of that, the oil giant has spent millions each year on lobbying — including $15.9 million last year alone — as it has tried to influence energy policy.

U.S. Justice Department is in violation of court order and its own policy in Allen v. Soetoro

The Post & E-Mail

(May 24, 2010) — According to the Department of Justice’s FOIA page, it “generally is required under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to disclose records requested in writing by any person.”  The website has a link to a report dated March 15, 2010 from the “Chief FOIA officer” who pledged a commitment “to make this the most open Administration in history.”  The report asserts that 5% more FOIA requests have been fulfilled during fiscal year 2009 over 2008 and that denials of information were reduced by 4%. In early 2009, faux Attorney General Eric Holder had issued a memo stating that “The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. § 552, reflects our nation’s fundamental commitment to open government.”

However, the results of Holder’s change in policy from the previous administration has not yielded clear results, as even the left-leaning Salon.com states in an article dated April 7, 2010.  Another article states that little improvement in meeting FOIA requests has been made in the  last year and that the Obama regime has actually become more secretive than its predecessor.

The Tenth Amendment protects state sovereignty from the whims of the Federal Government

My Thanks to JC for such a great article.            1 Dragon

The Examiner
The U.S. Constitution is arguably the greatest political document man could devise.

“If the federal government has the exclusive right to judge the extent of its own powers, warned the Kentucky and Virginia resolutions’ authors (Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, respectively), it will continue to grow.” Thus the states under the Tenth Amendment have the power to nullify federal rule.

The 10th Amendment to the United States Constitution is a guarantee of States’ rights. The Constitution designed the federal government to be a government of limited and enumerated, or listed, powers. This means that the federal government only has powers over the things that are specifically given to it in the Constitution. All other powers are reserved to the States. The 10th Amendment in the Bill of Rights reads like this:
“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

Last week at least 2 anonymous sources reported to the Conservative Examiner that National Guard troops were on the move inside the country.  As the days have progressed more reports surfaced, and several bloggers wrote that troops have been spotted on the move in massive convoys in various parts of the nation.

One source reported that U.N. ‘peacekeeping’ troops were part of the movement.
